Happy Birthday Penelope-penguin! I hope you have a lovely day!

Im feeling thoroughly miserable, I have to go to work and its still dark. I too am thinking of handing in my notice, more for mental health than anything else! Without being rude to the uk population - customers suck! It seems that our sole purpose is for customers to be rude to us because we dont have the authority to do what they want, management swoop right in and say ok, i can do that for you - making me look stupid, giving the company a bad reputation and generally annoying me. Customer service is truly a heinous job that i would recommend everyone avoid like the plague (unless you are thick skinned enough!). Ive now been there for 13 months and never truly settled in, and we have had so many changes recently that im not the only person to feel this way.

Anyhoo - OS today will probably consist of not a lot as I have to work and wont get home till 6. Hopefully ill have a couple more freecyclers turn up so I can get rid of everything still waiting in the hallway. I think ill spend my evening organising the kitchen cupboards as they are overflowing and may well start a storecupboard challenge to clear them out a bit.

    Have a lovely day all!

    :D Morning all,
Happy birthday Pen-pen:beer: Have a good one It's so dark and grotty here at the moment, well done Amanda for reminding us to plant our bulbs for the spring.
I have a busy day ahead .This morning it's Maths at college, then this afternoon History. I do enjoy that as it's so interesting.Finish at around 4.p.m.
Then I have to make a mad dash home to pick up a prescription from the docs. for my bandages ect, for next week when I have the grotty toenail removed:eek: Fill the car with craft stuff, and overnight things then gallop up to DD1's house to stop W.W.3 breaking out between two teenage grandchildren. The boy is great ,but the girl is 13 with attitude
I am staying ther tonight to referee the pair of them whilst my DD and husband have a romantic night in London reliving their youth with a Level 42 concert and a night at a posh hotel in Kensington. ;)
Tomorrow I have to pick youngest DDand grandson up at 11 and drive over to pick up my sis-in-law in bromley as she is coming down to visit me for a week and look after things when I have me toe sorted next week. Hopefully at somepoint I shall get to the shops and get some fresh veggies,or it will be tinned or frozen veggies next week. My dear SIL doesn't drive so I can't expect her to hump spuds ect next week.
On top of which I have the feeling that I am about to start my once a year cold as my throat is a bit croaky and I feel as though I have a banana stuffed up my nose:eek:
Whoever said retirement was relaxing hasn't tried it. Still next week is half- term so I hope to be sitting down for a spell,(if I can find the time ) and reading my David Copperfield for my english Lit course. It's all go at my house .We ordered my DD's new bathroom suite ,but it has to be delivered to my house as the builders aren't yet ready for it to go in her new extention. I have so far in my tiny house her new 10ft dining table and eight chairs scattered about in different parts of my house and now I shall have a corner bath, toilet set and wash-hand basin coming as well. Help:eek: I am running out of room,it'll have to go in the conservatory I think there is no where else for it.
I feel like a warehose at the moment ,still it's all in a good cause I suppose.
Right, now I have had my morning moan, I shall go and get in the shower (whilst I still can) and have some breakfast.I have the yearning for some porrige this morning i think a bit of bulk to keep me going i think, with a LARGE cup of coffee to follow.
Home-made soup in a flask to take to college today.Tonight god knows what we will have for dinner as the two youngsters can never agree to what they want .
Stiill not put the heating on yet though, but it will probably go on this week-end as sis-in-law is a skinny wee thing who feels every puff of wind. Not like me who is ...rather more amply covered. She is a dear little soul though, and is missing her family dreadfully as they have moved to Dubai for two years .I am going to show her how to make some craft cards over the week-end ,it might help take her mind off of things for awhile.
Hope you all have a great day and a fantasic week-end .(((hugs)) to those who need them and a big :rotfl::D to the rest of you .
  • Hi all, I tend to lurk in the new posts to see if any advice or gossip turns up and thought I would have a look at your thread.

I try to be OS but I am c**p at it. What is Stardrops, where can I get it and how much is it?

I am up early this morning having woken at 4.45 am and not able to get to sleep again. I go to a group therapy session on a Friday morning and I have managed to get most of my housework done already! :rotfl:

Mrs Mix why do you iron jeans? I don't iron anything unless it really needs it like DH shirts for work or DS shirts for work or my clothes!!!! lol My excuse is that is saves electricity.

Had a bit of a lightbulb moment yesterday. I noticed someone somewhere on MSE posted "before you leave a room ask yourself, is anything costing me money"? Since then I have switched off several items on standby including one extension lead not connected to anything but proudly displaying it's red light for all to see - if only they looked!!!!

Used SC for the first time in years yesterday and got very complimentary noises from DH and DD1.

Hugs to all in pain, mental and physical.

Morning, Happy Birthday PEN PEN , hope u have a fab day.

i so wanted to cut the lawn today but after the amount it rained last night i feel the lawn mower shall just get stuck.

2 of my cats are having an arguement at the mo. which is interesting as they are both to scared to do anything , but just sit next to each other , giving the evil looking a growling.

i bought my daugther last night a little tikes road and rail set for 6 pounds it was advertised locally. it is fantastic. i am so chuffed. hubby and i spent ages last night playing with it.

    Brekkie is toast and fruit
    Lunch - noddles
    Tea - not sure yet

i've kinda lost the ability to meal plan at the moment. i been so busy i haven't had time to sit ans do one. but hubby gets paid tomoz , and although i don't need any food. it might insprire me to sort freezer and write a list. therefore avoid going to supermarket and buying stuf i don't need.

Both kids have just woken up , but while there content i'm gonna have a bath. i think i may of slept awkwardly my back feels really achey.

    Enoy your day everyone.

Welcome jellycat, hope you will enjoy being here!!!!

Stardrops are about 58p for a bottle, i get mine at Wilkinsons, and is a general 'all round' cleaner. I dilute it to clean my bathroom and kitchen, and use it neat on really stubborn marks/dirt. Its economical and very good!!!!

    Morning everyone :)

    :j :j :j HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEN PEN :j :j :j

Have not been feeling well at all over the last couple of days but feeling better today, children are both full of cold but looking forwards to half term next week.

I have got behind on a lot of things so first on the agenda needs to be a big tidy round, I have ebay parcels to post and a trip to Boots on the cards. I promised the children a pizza for tea but dinner for us will be a curry.

OH is looking like he is going to lose his job, his (so called) mate that works on the same team as him at work said that he wasn't pulling his weight behind his back which is not true at all (10 hour days during the week and an extra 6 hours unpaid at home at the weekend), all because they know their work budget is going to be cut so only one of them is likely to be kept on. Trouble is this guy has done it to 3 people before Oh (this might be dh's only saviour as big boss is starting to see the pattern now).OH needs to remain professional but I know he is exhausted and demoralised at the moment especially as it was his so called mate. We were doing real well with our goal of reaching Australia and now it all looks to be heading backwards due to 1 selfish *******. Oh is now going to have to spend most of the weekend working (for free) to prove himself.

I hope everyone has a good day and stays warm and cosy.

    Good morning everyone!

    Happy Birthday Pen Pen!

Well, this morning I have done the washing - it's almost dry in TD (its raining here at the mo, despite the fact that the only bit of sky I can see is a pretty shade of blue, was pink as well a little while ago)
I have made a loaf of bread in the BM, watered the conservatory plants and done most of the washing up - not my tea mug which is still beside me... oh, it's empty:(
Today we have a home-ed day in Suffolk, and my mum is teaching art, so I have got a load of stuff ready to take for that, including my easels.

Dinner will be a sausagemeat loaf, and whatever else I can find to go with it. Today is payday, and I won't get to go shopping today, so the cupboards are pretty empty. I think I have 2 potatoes left so helpings of those won't be large!
yesterday we copped out and DH bought us fish & chips for dinner :o
