PC not connecting to the internet

We have tried a couple of different wireless USB sticks with it the signal was always poor. No idea about the wireless card mate.

To be honest there is a lot more wrong with his PC than that , Its a long story. It was 2nd hand, he likes fiddling with it etc, to cut a long story short i did ask if he wants to try and sort it with help from you guys but he said he cant be bothered. He is 18 so if he cant be bothered neither can i TBH !

Didn't see that you had replied. The quickest solution is to make a copy of his important info and to run a clean install with a newer DELL XP SP3 disc. Otherwise we could spend time just getting it to start up normally, before actually getting around to the clean up.

So I think a fresh start. That way the whole job will be complete in a couple of hours. Back up his important info from Safe Mode. Then we'll reinstall Windows, install Drivers and applications in the correct order, install security applications and finally replace his pictures/music/documents etc to the laptop.
How much RAM is installed to that machine?
