Hi guys having problems with my PC connecting to the internet, it wont connect with any browser. Currently using Firefox as my main browser but have tried Opera and Internet Explorer too and having the same problems. Ive got a Dell PC about 7 yrs old connected to a BT Homehub been having problems the last few weeks with it being slow loading up, but after it has its been fine. The last week kept getting a message saying an update wasnt able to load on Firefox the first time i opened after putting the PC on after closing it and re-opening it was fine. Then yesterday ran a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials and also Malwarebytes as well, after restarting the PC and loading firefox was told the update was successful so was hopefull this would be fine then. it loaded one or two pages but then wouldnt connect to any webpage. Tried again several times with no joy so then tried Opera and Internet Explorer with the same results.
Checked my connections and it say the LAN one is connected, so then decided to tried connecting when in Safe Mode with Networking with the same browsers but still no joy !
Any ideas or help gratefully received but in not to complicated terms please guys ! PC and laptop playing up as well this week Computers
Thanks guys

How are you posting?
Stick on USB drive, copy resulting text file on to USB drive.... Is your PC connected by Ethernet cable? If not, do so for the time being. 0 -
Hi both,
I've been having exactly the same problem (I'm posting from my work laptop) I have a Dell XPS laptop which connects wirelessly and for about 10 days I can't load any internet pages on any browser (I usually use Firefox but have tried with IE too). I know the internet is working as both my housemate and my work computer can connect.
I'll try downloading the programme suggested and run that but haven't been able to find a solution through good old Google thus far. I've tried flushing my DNS, disabling my firewall, uninstalling my anti-virus with no joy.
Hoping that the lovely MSE community may be able to help
Thanks,

Can you start a new thread of your own so that you, Mart and the guys don't get confused. On the second green bar select forum tools and select post a new thread then post your log there.

Hi Donnie , Im on partners sons laptop with a T-mobile stick , pretty slow going i have to say !
So dowloading might be pretty slow me thinks !
Is it worth me trying to connect to my hub maybe that would be faster ?
I have a USB stick with some space left on it would that be ok to use ? Otherwise have to go buy one first !
No its connected to the other one not the ethernet mate
Thanks will get back soon as i have got myself sorted cheers.0 -
Yes of course - I've done that. Sorry, just thought it may be the same issue (not very techy) can see it would get confusing.
Thanks,

Hi Lauren Good luck im sure someone will sort it for you0

We need to ascertain that there is not a problem with the HUB itself. Connect a working machine to the HUB via the Ethernet lead to see if you can get access to the Internet.0
