Mike, I didn't know that!
Anyway, I haven't time to get my credit file now. The approx dates and years will have to do. When I have printed out the forms will add "approx" beside the entry.
Some of my accounts are 25 years old!0 -
Where gambling is concerned if it were me I would be tempted to hide the spending on gambling within the general debt. I can't see why they make such an issue of it.0

There are lots of ways to waste money - smoking, drugs, drinking alcohol, buying cars, buying clothes, buying jewellery, buying cd's, spending money on rock concerts, on holidays, etc. Why pick on gambling? Since the SoA form specifically singles out "gambling", they definitely pick on that one thing!
To be perfectly honest, the OR, in my case, did not give the impression that she viewed anything as a heinous crime. There were no gambling debts, but I did feel that she may have picked me up on my choice of car (prior to its repossession). I do find it a bit disconcerting that there is a section specifically for 'gambling' on the form, whereas 'luxury goods' are hardly mentioned.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Yes, that is what I meant! The specific question on the form relating to gambling. There is no mention of anything else!0 -
Do tell - what was the Car Rog2?0

Hi
does anyone know how long the specific bit relating to gambling has been on the form
I am sure that I read somewhere that gambling debts were not enforcable by law or something similar to that Just a thought.
A big hello to those 'lurkers' out there who haven't decided what to do.

It was a BMW X5 - with my own personal plate:rolleyes:
Now I'll probably get slated, but it was costing me £420 a month and I'd had it for a couple of years before I started having problems.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. Cannot answer that question but, it seems to me that all sorts of things are changed!
I am amazed that no-one can include any student debts in a bankruptcy! I can understand that some folks would try to do the br just to get rid of the debt. Or maybe they are concerned in case students rack up a whole load of debt knowing that they can get rid of it with br?
However, when that "student" gets to 35+, is still paying student fees, needs to go bankrupt for some other reason, then I fail to see why they cannot include it.
Strange!0 -

I don't know how long it's been there dave, and yes gambling debts, with certain exceptions, may not be enforceable under law, but I imagine they are more often enforced by 'thugs with baseball bats'.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. Very nice! Why should anyone want to slate you? You are entitled to have whatever car you wish to have!
Did you know that even on the Motability Scheme I could have gone for a BMW or a Merc! The advance payment, on top of the disability payment, is quite steep - some £5000 for a Merc, but it isn't a bad deal! DLA is not means tested, it comes as entitlement because of disability.0
