Also, if the Income Support folks don't get their finger out by next Friday and give me it, I will have to pay the whole of the court fee. I am only entitled to £25 per week IS, but without it, I pay the full fee - with it, I am still £150 in pocket. Crazy. I only have £59.90 per week to start with, and yet on that I am supposed to be better off than WITH IS. The SS system in this country is manic.
I think I should get a job in the Civil Service and sort them out !
I think that you should ask at the court - I think I remember people having the court fee suspended without having to give proof. Also I think that the court fee may be 'credited' until after the hearing.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

when i phoned the court the lady said to bring the money in 2 sep envelopes one with 325 and the other 150, and fill out the form for help whilst there, they should tell you on that day if you have to pay the 150
don't quote me on that being the same everywhere - this was what i was told. I am in essex.coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0 -
Sandra, I've always been planning on bankruptcy really (always being since I realised how bad things were obviously), I've been trying to find a way around it, ie social services providing the care I need so I can afford to pay for it, but I've had the forms a few weeks and knew it was the only way. The only question in my mind has been when to do it, I was planning on doing it in the next few weeks but that seems stupid when I can wait and use the money for the things I need and save up gradually.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

My court date is 20/11. The Clerk to the Court told me to call in on Friday 17/11, complete the remissions form and I would be told then and there if I had to pay the extra £150 or not, and then to take the money on the 20/11.
It is crazy that to go br is so expensive when the reason we need to go br because we are in trouble with money in the first place!
I am involved with a charity, and to get the official charitable status cost £975 + solicitors fees, etc, which is quite mad!
It makes me feel better being here. I did too much yesterday, because I felt well, so today I have felt very unwell. You cannot win!0 -
Hi
I went br for 325 without proof
I had to fill in a form saying I had applied for benefits/on low income.
The lady said that everyone got the discount as obviously you're there cos you're skint !!
I did it it at the High Court

I found the EX160 form on the net, and in the glossary it says that the only automatic remission is for Income Support.
I can get all sorts once they give me Income Support.
Thanks for the advice. Fingers crossed that they let me keep the £150!0 -
i am so stuck with these forms(i am no good with things like this) when i come to listing creditors. box says date incurred? and what was the debt for
ummm...... am i right in thinking date incurred was agreement date? and do i put gambling as to what debt was for? or consolidation to try to cover up the gambling?(i would put that sentence on form not just consolidation :rotfl: )coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0 -

I found the hard part was the date bank accounts were opened and cc's taken out! Also, dates the overdraft kicked in!
Yes, the date incurred is the date you signed the agreement.
On your original application for the loans you would probably put "consolidation", so put that on this form too.
If you put "to buy a car" on the application for the loan, then spent it on something else, technically it is illegal.0 -
It seems to me that the OR seems to view gambling like some heinous crime!
There are lots of ways to waste money - smoking, drugs, drinking alcohol, buying cars, buying clothes, buying jewellery, buying cd's, spending money on rock concerts, on holidays, etc. Why pick on gambling? Since the SoA form specifically singles out "gambling", they definitely pick on that one thing!
The gambling issue is bound to get worse, when they introduce these new casinos.0 -

I got my credit file, That has the opening dates for you.
I know it may not go down well.. but are you gonna try and hide the gambling debt ? (I mean within spending limits etc )0
