  • Part of the OR's job must be to get folks to see if and where they have gone wrong, so that it keeps them out of debt in the future?

I have heard that they are quite approachable people, they realise that life throws up some odd things nowadays, and that they do not judge.

I was told by CAB when I said that I didn't have the statements going back a year that it doesn't matter, the OR will take control of my finances and be able to get them direct from the bank.

So, are you after br now ?

I called Sky last night to cancel my contract, hoping that they'd offer me reduced payments for 6 months or so; only to be told that 2 weeks ago they were told they could no longer offer reduced payments to existing customers.

Has anyone else had the same result recently?

THe upshot was I bottled out and said I'd think about it - my kids will kill me if I cancel their sky :cheesy:

P.S - took the phone off the hook last night as can't face all those calls I know are going to start flooding our way - can't believe I've got to wait til March for BR - still, someone might beat us to the punch and take us to court (that'll save some money :))

i told the OH it looks though he might lose the car - he is not a happy bunny going through parkers it says it is worth around 4k although, the original car we brought which went on my cc cost 4500 we had since changed this as we now have 4 kids hence a bigger car - the other half took out the remainder of his isa and used it to upgrade so to speak for this car and I think if he lost it now I may well lose him too.

There is no hard and fast rule about cars - if the OR agrees that you need the car he will allow it, though normally you would lose a 'high value' car and OR would give you money to buy a cheaper one (could be around £1000 to £1500). Have a look in Glass's guide, or Parkers and see what bottom book price would be - that may sway OR.

If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
