  • I have already moved to a basic account so mine won't be frozen.

You were very lucky to be allowed to keep your cheque book!

I was going to do that.. Indeed on BKY day we did open one.. But as they have allowed this then, theres no point in changing.

You know, I havent ever used the cheque book thing in 3 years either !

Do they control the bank account? In other words, do they check everything you draw out etc

Again, if you have nothing to hide.. Then you wont mind them looking !

You see I intended doing an IVA originally - so I had to have a bank account that was not associated with any bank I owed money to - which left the Halifax, the Abbey and Co-op. The Halifax would not allow me to just pay cash into the account, the Abbey flatly refused, so I ended up with one from the Co-op - bless 'em.

I ignored my NatWest account, moved my dd's that were essentials, like car insurance, etc.

I must admit that I haven't written a cheque for years!

I think that scoot is more worried about the OR questioning what was done with the cash?

Scoot asked about having to have bank statements going back - I think they usually ask for one year's accounts, two if you are self-employed.

They do question large cash amounts taken out of a bank account or cash taken from a credit card, apparently.

He must tell the OR exactly what has happened with it.. They are not there to judge, just find explinations for things.

He sounds like he is clued up and is asking the right things, I think he has an IVA, so the process wont be all that alien.

Scoot.. sorry if im talking like youre not there then... Youll be fine mate.

And yes I am in an IVA but didnt have to account for everything.

And it's okay Mike, no offence taken
  • Well, I have my own worries and fears about this br thing too. My court date is 20/11.

To date I have told no-one about my br. Not one soul - apart from on here.

The stress is starting to kick in. I am really worried now that come the 20/11 I will be too frightened to go and walk through the door of the County Court and bottle out.

I was told by CAB when I said that I didn't have the statements going back a year that it doesn't matter, the OR will take control of my finances and be able to get them direct from the bank.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Don't worry about it! The Or can get them, no problem!

I have the last five years of my bank statements, because I was self-employed up until 13.10.06.
I don't have my cc statements, none of them

    It will be okay !
