Hey everyone, i lost about 2 stone in about 2 months doing the Atkins diet, no joke.
but i wouldnt recommend it. i took it far too seriously and strictly and ended up fainting.
if u have self control and are trying to lose weight for an occassion and dont mind putting some of the weight back on then it might be worth considering.

    Hiya
Well Friday is my weigh in day and i've lost 4lbs! Really pleased because I have been eating properly and never felt hungry. It was definitely keeping busy that helped me, that and stress! Lol! Only another 6lbs to go.

Target for next week is 1lb again.

    Good luck everyone.

PS I'm saving a fortune not buying snacks!

I'm not weighing till this evening but I can tell you I've saved about £12 a week on my weekly shop since I started this diet. Its difficult to appreciate how much money gets wasted on carp until you dont spend it anymore.
So not only am I losing lbs, but I'm also saving pounds. :rotfl:

    Hi all,
What a great thread!:j :T I am up for joining - my doctor phoned me the other evening to tell me to stop takin the pill and he's prescribed me another one because i'm too fat:o
I weigh about 14 stone and am 5' and half an inch!
I have always been big but never this big, i weigh more now than i did when i was 8 moths pregnant (never got to 9) I was fortunate to only put on 3lb throughout my whole pregnancy but have put on 2 stone since DS was born - Jun/04.
I am so determined to loose a few stone before next summer, all togther i want to loose 5 stone, but i know it will take a long time. In the past i have never stuck to diets as i just get moody about not being able to eat nice things!:o
I even resorted to using speed to loose weight this worked but as soon as i stopped the weight came back on!
My bf is quite healthy - wont eat white bread, loves fruit etc and he said he'll support me 100%
I went to weightwatchers once but it wasnt for me - i'm quite a paranoid person and couldnt do with people looking at me, but i got a book and journal and couple of other bits and dug them out this morning.
So i'll see how i go with this one, it;s good coz i can eat alot of stuff that tastes nice, just need to find some more recipies.
I cook everything from scratch anyway but jst need some WW ideas, so will take a peek at the site in a bit!
I dont own a pair of scales, so might go and invest in some today or tommorrow - any recomendations?
Oh and if anyone has any WW recepies can u let me know them or where i can get them from (free!)
Anyways, i'm going to do my first weigh in on monday.
    xx

You are a very open person, able to understand yourself, that is half the battle, because then you realize how you will react to certain situations. So you need to do what works for you .The trouble with scales they might dishearten if the weight is not coming off fast enough.Try this just have one day a week when you indulge yourself, then you have something to look forward to ,the rest of the week stick to the recipes that you discover.Good luck

the best thing i did to loose weight more efficiently was as well as control calories I began to lift weight and do body weight exercises such as squats and push ups!
muscle is more metabolicaly active than fat - it burns more calories. so the more muscle tissue you have the more calories you actually burn just by sitting around.
dont worry about being ridicoulously big - for women its really hard to build large amounts of muscle due to the lack of testosterone we have.
I used to be 13.5 st 5'8, am now a healthy tone 10.3 st and feel loads better for it

keep your drink.....just give me the money
