Luton Airport call it a Penalty Charge - it's not allowed to be called a 'penalty' either.

They have now changed the wording on this.
The letter I recently received from APCOA is headed "Parking Enforcement Notice"
Does this change the position in any way ?

Still not worth the paper it's written on. Just keep ignoring.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Parking Enforcement Notice.... a somewhat ironic title considering it's totally unenforceable.

Just ignore it if you get one, folks.

Contravention 02-Dropping off/picking up outside of a designated parking area.
The only point they have wrong on the letter is my Postcode - it is for a completely different town.
Will this "error" in any way invalidate the legality of the form ?

Did you actually read anything in the thread you've added your post to? It makes it quite clear what the position is.

Nope. Read and learn - it really is easy to ignore this scam.

    1. Read the sticky thread, 'PPC letters & threats'. If unsure how to see the forum index (stickies at the top) see my signature.

    2. Check out which standard letter templates will come next.

    3. Watch the Watchdog clip on the same sticky thread.

    4. Ignore the scammers and tell your friends/family about this con.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
