As Coupon-mad has said no private company can fine anyone and their demands are just that. And empty to boot.MissMoneypenny wrote: »Maybe you are taking this money saving too far?My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).

Missmoneypenny you replied to me as if it was my thread: 'There is a free drop off and pick up area, but if you want to drop your family off outside the terminal, can't you just cut out another coupon for something else, so you free up a £1 to pay Luton? The other alternative is to use Gatwick for your families flights as you say they have a free drop off and pick up, although that might cost you more in fuel or/and airfares than the £1 charge at Luton. '
What?!
I have never been to Luton Airport in my life! But as the others have said, you still don;t geddit do you? These are NOT parking tickets.
It's a scam, that's why I was surprised you were being hoodwinked by it, as an MSE regular.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, there isn't. And you said this specifically in reply to "The way to go is simply to allow free quick pick ups outside, not in some short-stay car park". If you're going to argue about this, please at least get your facts right.
Semantics. There IS a free pick up and drop off area. If you want to drop off right outside the terminal (but not as close than the free bus from the free drop off area) then you pay £1.
By dropping off or collecting your family at the free car park, you could save yourself another 50p perhaps, by not having to drive the extra distance?
I don't agree with the charging as I said, but the selfish pr@ts who block the approach road or turf their passengers out to walk on the road around the roundabout, do need sorting out, if only for the sake of their passengers safety!
I hope the saving of 50p (£1 charge from Luton minus the extra cost of fuel to the terminal from the free car park) is worth risking your passengers.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

You seem to be the one who doesn't "geddit" (sic)., Try reading my posts again, I never said they were payable parking tickets.Coupon-mad wrote: »It's a scam, that's why I was surprised you were being hoodwinked by it, as an MSE regular.
And as I said, not everyone on MSE come on here trying to get out of paying parking tickets. MSE is so much more than that.
I wasn't "hoodwinked" as I always like to get to airports early, pay to park in the car parks and have a coffee and read of my book while I am waiting to collect my family as soon as they come through the arrivals gate.
However, what surprised me is from this thread is that people can't read simple signs and road markings for bus lanes, or (worse) that some peoples desire to save themselves a few pence, means that they let their relatives walk on the roads and block the only approach road for everyone else. You are quite happy to spend money on yourself to go to football, but you wouldn't want to pay a few pence to drop your family off in a safe place?RENTING? it's about "whether one believes as a consumer that it is reasonable for an airport to force those picking up arriving passengers to pay a fee to the airport for doing so. It's a point of principle."
So when one someone gets run over on the roundabout as they walk on the road trying to find a gap to the pavement, you can tell them "It's a point of principle" as you saved yourself a between 50p to £1.RENTING? No, it's not semantics. The context of your previous reply and its attempt to negate Coupon-mad's prior statement suggested an incorrect belief by you that there is a free drop-off area outside the terminal.
There really is no excuse for you getting things wrong as this thread is only 3 pages long. If you can't retain what you read, then you can easliy go back and read the posts again. I do not believe there is a free drop off area outside the terminal. I even suppled a link to an animated Luton airport parking, which was very clear. Go back and read my post to coupon-mad again.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property?
