I do have a cold but it isn't cold in the house but have put more layers on this week.

I also have the warmest room in the house too, so should be able to hold out.

I put it on this morning for a brief while, we usually just pop the gas fire on downstairs and that does the trick. Was going to try and last to 1st November but have a small baby and his little fingers were frozen this morning bless him!

You have to keep him warm whatever the cost

Today was really cold and damp so I lit the fire for the first time in several months, let it burn for a couple of hours and then let it go out. The back boiler fuels our central heating and it gets so warm it makes sleeping unbearable if allowed to stay in too long. Can't sleep now (2.40am) but the house is warm again, even with a window open.

I thought I could hold out a few more weeks but this morning was soooo cold, I might bear it for the 20 minutes I'm in the house awake on a weekday morning but might have to put the timer on for the weekend if its still like this. Bummer

I`m not cold but there is a bit of condensation appearing on some windows in the morning. We have an en suite and I have to dry my washing indoors and the cooler air is not able to hold the same amount of moisture. I am going to turn it on for half an hour around 6 am and again at about 9pm. The whole house will be warm in half an hour as it is a new build. It is a question of balance ie cost and energy conservation v keeping the walls and windows dry

It is definatly colder here in Suffolk now, but the heating is still not going on ......yet !!, my Daughter (10) wearing just leggings and a crop top asked for it on last night, I told her to dress properly, then if still cold, it may go on, she put her dressing gown on and forgot all about being cold. My Son (8) is still running about with his sports kit on and is hot all the time. I made a casserole in my slow cooker last night and I must admit, it was nice to come down and go into a warm kitchen this morning, so I can see me living on low fat / cost casseroles this winter and warming my kitchen at the same time !!!

We had ours on this morning, just for a hour to take the chill from the house.
