A young boy, about eight years old, was at the corner "Mom & Pop" grocery picking out a pretty good size box of laundry detergent.
The grocer walked over, and, trying to be friendly, asked the boy if he had a lot of laundry to do.
"Oh, no laundry," the boy said, "I'm going to wash my frog."
"But you shouldn't use this to wash your frog. It's very powerful and if you wash your frog in this, he'll get sick. In fact, it might even kill him."
But the boy was not to be stopped and carried the detergent to the counter and paid for it, even as the grocer still tried to talk him out of washing his frog.
About a week later the boy was back in the store to buy some candy. The grocer asked the boy how his frog was doing.
"Oh, he died," the boy said.
The grocer, trying not to be an I-told-you-so, said he was sorry the frog died but added, "I tried to tell you not to use that detergent on your frog."
"Well," the boy replied, "I don't think it was the detergent that killed him."
"Oh? What was it then?"
"I think it was the spin cycle!"

Hi Piq,
I cant use anyone else because I have a service contract on it and I don't want to have to pay again.
Granny that was super funny.
you wouldnt think being without a washer would be so upsetting, so honestly, so what if I have to go to the launderette it isnt a big deal.

I would be beside myself if my washing machine broke down. Dishwasher, I could do without, well I do, because OH thinks its a complete waste of money and dishes in the sink wash just as well. This is of course because he rarely washes them but to be fair he washes saucepans etc as soon as he's finished with them so its just the crockery and cutlery that needs washing. He evens swills glasses and puts them on the window sill, not that they are washed to my standard, so I end up re-swilling them. :rotfl:

Being without the washing machine is very difficult, hand-washing is okay to a point, but not being able to spin the laundry is a real pain.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

During a pause between cycles (in a packed launderette), I was once horrified to see, pressed up against the door glass, a snowy white object with a distinctive cotton 'tail'. Yes it was a tampon (unused she said hastily) from my dressing gown pocket.:eek::eek:0
