Sorry you're having such a rough time of it with your mum NewLeaf, and it must be doubly hard with you being so far away.

Does she have any other children/family/close friends watching out for her? I agree that another contact from you, offering your support on whatever level she will accept, would be your best move so she knows she can turn to you if needed. But ultimately she is an adult and there's only so much you can do for her if she won't accept your help.

On the postive side, well done on the taxes, I can't believe how much you've paid in such a short time :T.

Gosh what a lot has happened in your world while I wasn't paying attention, NewLeaf. Good news on the bonus and absolutely amazing the way you're paying THEM off so quickly - do hope THEY are pacified by your efforts. ;)

Sorry to hear your Mom is still troubled. Hope your latest message to her is well received (or better than the earlier one, anyway). Is Mom seeing her doctor [MD] as well as the counsellor? Can't help thinking Mom is really depressed..

Dear NL, I'm so sorry you're going through the mill at the moment. I don't know how to help but I am still here for you. Missrir's advice on contacting your mom, is very good advice indeed. I'll let you into a little secret, missrir gives excellent advice, she has always been there for me in my hour of need too.

She has some friends there but if she won't speak to them either I guess we all just have to wait it out.

Hi Robin, thanks for stopping. I did take missrlr's advice and granny's and brizzled and Dorothy's advice and write to her just saying I love her and if she needs me I am here etc. No response but I did not expect one.

She is on loads of medication, some of them are non-concomitant with others. I would say she is heavily medicated which is not helping the situation.

Anyway as you all so correctly point out, she is an adult and can do as she sees fit with her own life. I will try to worry less (ha!)

I worry about my mam all the time, . Sorry about my last post had a particularly bad day yesterday when I was accused by a family member of not doing enough for her and my dad, which peed me off somewhat.

Oh honey, this statement makes me so sad as it sounds like you think we are telling you that you are silly to worry. No-one is saying that at all, of course you will worry, we just don't want you to worry yourself into ill health as you have enough going on already. She is your mum and you want what is best for her, as she would you I'm sure but sadly as an adult she has to make these changes for herself or it won't work. A bit like me and my diet really :D.
