Just noticed on the mis price thread the peanuts SEL with 20% off is 94p going through as 99p but the ones without the 20% are going through correctly at 94p.
When you look at it in relation to the dishwasher tablets as well it does make you stop and think.
That old line nothing in life is free seems to ring true...............unless it's a Tesco mis price of course;)Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -
I got the cars & bratz annuals but the discount did come off. Is the m/save fixed ?
I got these 2 because I wanted them so nothing lost0 -
I got cars and spiderman annuals and discount also came off0

Sorry I don’t have time right now to look up the Links or precise wording – but re; your clubcard points. Check out the Advertising standards agency website it goes something like ‘it is unlawful to use an enticement (i.e. clubcard points) to encourage a purchase and then not provide that enticement’
The Advertising standards agency are one of the few agencies who take breaches very seriously – the r&r policy is advertised on tv in the shops and on the website – there are no conditions attached saying you will be banned if you’re repeatedly overcharged.
Tescos t&c’s may well not be worth the paper they are written on either – as anyone who has read the illegal bank charges thread will know – it doesn’t mater what t&c’s you have signed if they are not ‘reasonable or within the law’ they will not hold up in court – for example people have signed to say they accept a £25 bank charge for going overdrawn – this is not deemed ‘reasonable’ therefore it holds no weight – thousands of pounds worth of these have now been refunded – even the biggest banks & their lawyers would not go to court with this regardless of the signed t&c’s . Your clubcard points remaining the property of Tesco despite you having earned them through enticement seems unreasonable and therefore I would think a small claims court would instruct Tesco to reinstate them. The illegal bank charges thread has lots of info on this sort of subject.0 -
After just doing my shopping at tesco's and finding NO products to R&R (was only a quick shop as the weather and how busy they are on Sundays) I got to thinking and came to the conclusion, all these that try and stick up for tesco and intentional R&R (mse members) shoppers etc.
Right i find an item tomorrow morning that is over priced what ever it may be.I go to the CS desk to get my R&R,follow the CS person to where the item i have got is and she removes the SEL.The item should be on offer as it is not out of date or anything,so she removes the SEL off the shelf and gives me my R&R.Now nobody else can claim an R&R for being overpriced on that item,so everyone else who buys that item that day and the days that follow is unknowingly being over charged by tesco's.Now it's been proven on here that these errors have carried on for days,so when managers start to get shirty with people claiming R&R's just say out loud, what about the ALL the people who YOU have overcharged who haven't noticed. If they say things like someone else has already had one of these today or yesterday, etc.Ask them why they haven't updated their computers etc so they are not overcharging customers, when they KNOW a product is either NOT taking a discount off or is blatently over charging ALL their customers.......©..®..(TM) NothingVentured.

My R&R experience today:
KP Original Salted Peanuts 300g (now 20% extra free 360g packs)
SEL = 94p
Scans 99p (new 20% extra free 360g packs only)
*Explain that I have been overcharged and take her to where the packs are*
ME: "It's these ones here, they should be 94p as the label says. It is what I normally pay"
SA: "Are you sure they are the right ones... Let me see"
SA: "The SEL is for 300g packs, you have 360g packs"
ME: "Yes, it is 20% extra free, as it says in big on the pack, so it's bigger than usual"
SA: "No it is a different product. The 20% extra free packs are 380g, you bought 360g bags".
ME: "No. 10% of 300g is 30g, so 20% extra free is 360g, not 380g. Also there are no 300g bags anymore"
SA: "No. The 360g bags are a different thing to 300g bags and unrelated. There is no SEL for 360g bags. They cost more."
ME: "Then whey do they say in big 20% extra FREE if I have to pay more?"
SA: *Moves all of the 20% free packs off shelf front, moves the new full box of peanuts off shelf, reveals just 1 of the old 300g packs lying with hundreds of the new packs behind*
SA: "These are the 300g bags. What you bought is unrelated to this."
ME: "If they are unrelated, then please explain to me why the full factory box of peanuts you removed from behind has printed on it '360g bags based on 300g bags, why there are all these 360g bags in this space and no 300g bags available, why Tesco is charging for the 20% extra free advertised by the manufacturer, and where does 380g come into this? I still can't figure it out?
SA: "Please follow me back to CS desk, I'll sort this for you"
And at the desk I saw her work out the difference in pence on the calculator so quickly had to ask "Last time I was overcharged on some gum you said I can have it free. Is it still the same policy"?
This was a genuine straight up overcharge, and it was clear as daylight. Why do they needs to be such clowns over it? I don't know how much profit they make like this as, but think it would be more than my refund as:- It is only a 5p overcharge on a 94p product. Doubt many people will spot it on recipts anyway.
- KP Peanuts are a very popular product , so they sell LOADS
- They are selling even more than usual as they are currently 20% extra free packs
- SEL not removed
- Some people might accept the 20% extra free is 380g packs thing LOLLLLLL
- Some people will just take the 5p per pack difference back.
They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
I agree with what Izzy has just said.
Today, I had some more annuals from the same store that I had them from early in the week. They knew they were wrong last Wednesday but they have obviously made no attempt to sort it out so people are still being overcharged.
Also, I've had the last 2 four packs of Fruit Shoot from 2 different stores today and the discount didn't come off. Both stores had full stocks of the orange drink but only 2 packs of the blackcurrant and , in both stores , staff remarked that blackcurrant were the most popular and they'd sold loads in the last few days. (or words to that effect). Both lots of staff removed the SELS after my refunds. So I assume that all these people who bought 'loads in the last few days' were all overcharged and none of them noticed or complained. If they had complained then CS would have removed the SELS before I got there. It all goes towards the suggested 3% overcharge on the average shopping trolley.ELITE 5:2

The PS2 games 13.97 or 2 for £25 glitch will no longer work, as from today they are all reduced, narnia the other day scanned at 14.99, today it is 11.xx etc0

ben500 wrote:To be perfectly honest I have always thought 3% to be an extremely conservative estimate, especially as overcharges tend to be on the most sought after products more often than not.
Its frightening thought
I expect the average joe public dont check their receipt or just throw it away in the bin on the way out. Its the ones that dont have the money to spare that dont/cant check their receipt. I saw an elderly lady asking the checkout girl to take what she needed the other day as she couldnt see very well - so she wouldnt of checked her receipt:(
I must admit I never used to check my bill or took much notice of the sel. It is all down to the people on here that i now check & find the errors (far too many of them).0
