Had my monthly Credit card statement this morning, wooo hooo! What an eye opener:j

I used my card to purchase just under £600 of goods - the total refunded by Mr T to this card was...... wait for it...........

    £475.18

And, on quite a few occasions, they have either refunded me cash, or onto my debit card! LOVE IT!!

Initial calculations (maths is not my strongest subject, so correct me if I'm wrong) suggest you experienced an average 80% overcharge in each of your trolley fulls in the last month. :D
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

  • Taxiphil - this is a personal understanding rather than anything to do with Tesco - I was under the impression that in order to obtain things like cctv footage, you DO need to provide the information that they have requested. Dates, time frames and locations.

Strictly speaking, I don't think CCTV tapes qualify as data so they would be exempt from the DPA.

"Data" is such a nebulous term though and is often defined by its use, so if they were using CCTV tapes to stop someone entering the store for example, then that would become data.

If they were using it in such a way it would need to be indexed to allow it to be referenced, which would mean they would by definition be able to access it easily.

I for one will be watching how taxiphil's request pans out. Maybe a good idea for us all to request what they have on us? 2 advantges: it keeps more people in employment and costs Tesco a bundle of the commodity they cherish the most.

i'm not entirely sure I agree with this sentiment... I have no personal beef with Tesco, despite some initial hassle from shop staff they're refunded my £505 in the last month completely in line with their policy.

I've no desire to bring them down (as if I could!), speaking personally I think I've been treated okay and have no impulse to create hassle for them....

Got my first overprice refund yesterday.

24 cans of beer with an expired SEL.

CS were nice, I didnt even ask for the refund, the girl just gave it to me with a smile saying "its policy if its our fault"

    :)

After I was overcharged on a DVD yesterday the SA sent me to CS for the R+R, she didn't look happy when I requested the chargeback to my card and she proceeded to pick off the original £9.97 form the DVD....I said "Why are you doing that?"......her reply was to see if there is anything underneath!

I said to her the DVD was in a plastic security box so there's no way the price could of been changed.

IMO she was removing it for some other reason
