Dazzieboo wrote:Is the R&R policy applicable in all stores?, my local one just gives you the difference in money back. If this is not the case, what do I do about it ? state the policy ?. Thanks.
apologies if someone further on has told you to ALWAYS accompany(and never split your infinitives either) CS back to the item in question, regardless of anything said.
There have been cases of staff removing evidence and denying you your proof of overcharge.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

You don't need to make a song and dance - just look wide eyed and innocent and point behind the cs desk to the big blue sign where their overcharge policy is on clear display.
"Oh but I was just reading that sign while I've been waiting......doesn't that mean you give me back ALL I've paid, and I get to keep it as well ?"
Here is the point where blondes can look that extra bit dumb, the senior MSErs look a little more frail and uncertain, if the cs is the opposite sex to you, you can smile coyly.....
The world of acting is your oyster.
When are the oscar nominations due in again ?
Great post.
I've always maintained that a loud Forest Gump style reading of the Our Promise board works wonders......

Had my monthly Credit card statement this morning, wooo hooo! What an eye opener:j
I used my card to purchase just under £600 of goods - the total refunded by Mr T to this card was...... wait for it...........
£475.18
And, on quite a few occasions, they have either refunded me cash, or onto my debit card! LOVE IT!!

taxiphil wrote:Does anyone know if I'm under some kind of legal obligation to supply them with stores visited + dates + times in order for them to process my request under the DPA? Or am I right in thinking that my name and address is all they should be given?
Yes you're right, the DPA allows you to request ALL information a company holds about you, how they get it is not your problem. They're required to provide it and should probably have a system in place to retrieve it for you (it's not like they're short of a few quid!).
Information about you should be accessed only by the people who NEED it to do their job, and the information stored about you must be specific and relevant to the delivery of their services.
For example they shouldn't store your religious persuasion, although if they began to deliver services that were sympathetic to this then they would be okay, although I'm not sure how a shop would practically go about doing that!0 -
taxiphil, IIRC Ben500 stated on here a week or so ago that a DPA request can cost the company 100s of man hours. Nice one! Let them get all the info they have on you themselves, why should you help them out?I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

Brilliant, cheers for that Govener!! Hope you go ahead and request all the info TaxiPhil

No problem for Tesco. I found this statement on their website:
"We comply strictly with the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998. For further information on our data protection policy, please read the Terms and Conditions page. "
Has anyone formed a letter so we can standardise our request. Much to how they seem to standardise their letters of response?:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Also from the Tesco Website

Doesn't say I have to provide them with any other information than my postal address. Interesting for £10. (Bet they'll charge £10.01. Another R & R opportunity??)0 -
Every Little Helps - what a con asking you to give them details so it helps them with the DPA of 1998. Bad Tesco.0
