Thought I had got a good one yesterday, Electrolux vaccuum 89.97. SEL OFFER 79.97 expired 3.10.06, dont know model number but it was a upright bagless one. Thought this was a cert, but went through till at 79.97.

Might be a ploy to claw back PSP and XBOX losses,,, P.S. persistance pays off!

Its weird how prices seem to be different in different stores (and online) all the stores I've been in this weekend (thats 8 stores) have/had a white SEL saying 94p apart from one store that had the yellow 99p one!

Tesco Burseldon today had a yellow sel on the peanuts stating 94p but with the 20% free on there too, still scanned at 99p though.
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p

martini, are you reading this thread? If so- any chance you could post if you got the DS games all in one go or not please?
  • Also noticed the Topside Rump Beef Joints today had a sel with 5.98 and pack was 6.44kg, good luck checking, also found lots of meat with higher priced sels than packs - shame.

    OK, new one

BOGOF on Walt Disney titles * selected titles (doesn't say what the selected titles are) but as far as I could see all the boxes had labels saying buy one get one free.

Spotted that "The chronicles of narnia "had a white SEL, so I took chance that the discount wouldn't kick in.hey presto I was charged for both.

The chronicles of narnia AND The Incredibles r&r no arguments

    go get em

    Hi WLFC,
Did Narnia have the bogof sticker?

    Cheers

  • As a newbie to the forum I was reading with interest about this Tesco policy re misprices.

Perhaps someone can point me in the write direction about whether i have a valid cause for complaint.

To cut a long story short popped into a large tesco store in hertfordshire which had a selection of reduced toys. One of these was a sticker which read Power Rangers SPD morpher Asst reduced from £9.47 to £7.47. Anyway as I have loads of nephews who always want the same toy as the others I purchased 4 of these having searhed through the selection there which consists of a 'Delta morpher and an Omega Morpher (as shown by the catalogue number 369/4554 in Argos catalogue). Well i chose the omega one which has a slightly different barcode to the delta one as the delta one looked very plasticy. Bought this along with my other shopping which consisted of two other games of which i had bought 3 and 4 of the same ones of and my groceries.

Anyway noticed as i was leaving i had been charged £9.97 for these morphers so went to Customer services who went with me to where i had picked up the item. Standing there was a supervisor who said that the toy was in the wrong place as he claimed the barcode on the SEL didnt match and therefore he said look in the toy section to the customer services lady. Anyway she looked and couldn't find it so went back to this bloke who muttered well give him the difference. Anyway as she was putting it through i pointed out the sign behind her which stated something along the lines of if the item is mispriced then it is free. Well at this point she phones for a manager and i waited for 20 minutes at least at which point she states i can have three of them at £7.47 and the other one for free. An obvious tesco employee behind me pipes up i should accept it but I state I 'd like to speak to a manger and another 15 minute wait occurs. At this point after consulting with several colleagues during which time the remaining omega morphers on shelf are removed as well as the SEL the duty manager comes up and says that the barcode is for a different item which matches the delta one and as such I can void the transaction and have my money back but thats it. I argue about the asst and her stance is the barcode says tyhe barcode and thats it. I was livid and so declined this offer and asked to speak to the manager and also to head office only to be told that as it was just after 8pm it was closed. I am told I can speak to another duty manager who reiterates that the barcode and TSN ??? are for the different item and as such they are technicaly doing nothing wrong. She states that she often comes across customer having mis shelved items in the wrong place and as such this is not their fault. I point out that the SEL says ASST (assorted and the Omega morpher and Delta morpher constitutes the assortment) but it is like talking to a brick wall as she refuses to back down. i even point out the toys next to this one have different barcodes yet one SEL only to be told that is not the barcode relating to Power Rangers so it is irrelevent. In desperation I ask for her details and a copy of the SEL which she refuses on more than one time saying she will instead write it down for me so that i can speak to head office. She tries another attempt at offering me the items for £7.47 and at this point i am determined not to give in. I refuse and reask for the SEL having taken a photo of it. THe duty manager finally relents and gives me a copy of the SEL having covered up the barcode and other bottom information as it records transacton information that she is not allowed ot disclose to the public???

Finally after an hour i walk out with no refund and the items and receipt in my trolley with the aim of speaking to head office.

Can anyone tell me whether if the items are on shelf mixed in with others and both are morphers whether this constitutes a mis-shelf price and consequently a refund under Tesco's policy? I am left to wonder whether my skin colour and lack of height has lead me to be bullied by the staff or am I reading far too much into these Tesco employees?

    Your views would be appreciated.
  • bought 4 packs duracell batteries on expired sel 2 for #4.50.cs said as offer is expired r&r dosent apply.i said not my fault sel shouldnt have been up,but she wouldnt budge.so i took it up with ho.spoke to three different people who all said the store was right.they said r&r wouldnt apply as the expiry date is clearly visible for the customer to see.i said the customer is suppose to see the price not the date.but he insisted r&r dosent apply on expired sels, and thats the end of it,no r&r would be given!!!!!!!!

that's for misprices only. It's not the discussion thread. I think Redfox separated the two threads after that one, in fact.
    :

Sorry, you are absolutely right, I opened a few of the old threads and posted the wrong link. They make interesting reading though don't they?

"This can't last long, Tesco will end this policy if you continue to abuse it ....... it's illegal ........... it's immoral" etc etc!

you don't get an R+R with the games it is just a mistake on the reciept and so no need for the stern march to CS.
Anyway noticed as i was leaving i had been charged £9.97 for these morphers so went to Customer services who went with me to where i had picked up the item. Standing there was a supervisor who said that the toy was in the wrong place
Just take it up with HO today, the sign should be ambiguous and should state which ones are in the offer - your not to know if they are or not.

At least you kept your goods and can always return them to another store if you want a refund in the end
    Good Luck
coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there
