Just a warning people - I voted on the above site and then had a pop up window appear that wanted to install something from Windows proffesional - what is that all about ?

maybe I`m paranoid, but isnt that how spyware etc gets onto your pc - sainthalo can you plase explain what happened as I would be hesitant to recommend the site without knowing whats going on.

confused about this - i use firefox and have script controller software - nothing comes up from the pollhost website or blogspot. both are reputable websites.

what exactly happens to you - pls could you tell us when it happens as well as what the text says - is it in ie or firefox? thanks

okay having checked it on IE a few times it looks like it could be an advert from the pollhosting company https://www.pollhost.com - they show random adverts some of which are popups - pollhost.com is a big website for polls and i trust they wouldnt serve up spyware etc but pls do get a popup blocker installed and you wont be annoyed at all

im using adblock and noscript plugins on firefox and google toolbar on ie to stop popups and allow them when i want them from certain sites.

has that helped? if anyone else has a problem with the poll please let me know.

Sorry, didnt want to be alarmist but Ive had some nasty stuff install like that before. The iwndow wanted me to insert Windows 2000 cd-rom to install updates ?? and when I cancelled that window, there was a pop up for Pary Poker (I think) It took about four clicks on the cancel button before it went.

I`m using Internet Explorer, but dont know the version - sorry.

Thought I had got a good one yesterday, Electrolux vaccuum 89.97. SEL OFFER 79.97 expired 3.10.06, dont know model number but it was a upright bagless one. Thought this was a cert, but went through till at 79.97.
