Hm? The thanks is appreciated, but what about the books? Talk to me about the books, does this worry you from your perspective more than the consoles? I think it should it's a different kind of mistake. I see xbox minnow boardgame sperm whale!

    Sorry Ben...gotta blame someone.

We're always telling newbies and the like not to let the Tesco CS assistant out of your site while she goes hunting for the offending Sel.....but I never thought it could happen to me......especially in Asda.

Amongst other things today...we bought 2 asda boil in the bag rice...93p each...but 2 for £1.50

After going through the tills the discount didnt come off,

Went to CS who went to find sel.

Came back with 2 for £2 sel.......(which didnt make sense, and she joked about it).

I went to look and she told me thats where the 2 for £2 sel was.

    I was dumbfounded.

I dont make mistakes like that....

I just had to accept what she said...but will be looking for same sel in other stores with the possibility of taking further action.

Didnt think this sel replacing happenned in others stores apart from Tesco's.

    I don't make mistakes either.

The CS went to look for the misprice on the shelf and I stayed at the CS desk - huge mistake - .... it was for three items from the same section..... all out of date SELs. Miraculously, all three SELs had been removed whilst I was at the CS desk.... more to the point I am positive the CS had removed them whilst checking. I returned to the offending section with the CS afterwards, to find all three SELs removed and a CS claiming that no-one could have possibly removed them as no-one was working that section today..... she was inferring I was telling porkies or was mad.

This is the first time this has happened to me..... I cannot believe how blatent the CS was in dealing with the whole situation.....

Been away for 5 days,,,,came back late friday....managed to read through all of the "new ethics thread" and the first 15 of 40odd needed to catch up in this discussion thread(before giving up), so may be a bit behind re "the books" issue......although i do remember talk about either "annual or kiddies annual" and have read some posts on the misprice thread about the £3.97/£4.97 books.....other than that I'm a bit ignorant of the "books issue"......but I will try and catch up.

Yes...I never allow them to go themselves in Tesco's...but for less than 50p in Asda, I never dreamt it would happen.

I'm pretty sure i had the same thing wheni went the other day, went to buy some ringbinders that i needed, saw they were halfprice on the shelf so bought them, but low and behold after going through the checkout they were doube in price. So i trotted along to the CSDesk and told her and off she trotted, and being new to this i didnt follow her, cos i was unawre i had to, to be dealt with honestly. When she returned she told me it was tesco value folders and not jsut tesco folders thatwere 36p and the ones i had picked up were 78p, so would not give me back my, but the value ones werent in stock! This sign was directly underneath the normal tesco ones i had picked up.... It's wierd how the folders i got were the same price as the original "value ones" that were mysteriously not there. Hmmmmm...

well i didnt go back and ckeck cos i was tired, but im pretty sure she just lied to me. Anyway i didnt have to folders i got my money back and goin to buy some different ones from elsewhere.

Ok we've had some big misprices over the last 4 weeks !, the consoles for 3 weeks on the trot, finished now, but couldn't last forever (shame) then last week the L6 mobile. lets hope for another big one - LCD TV is top of my list !, personally I can't be bothered with little ones (i.e Willow chicken), constant trips to CS with little r&r just raise my profile and makes life harder for the larger misprices.

    Come on Tesco- whats next?

and MSE'ers - keep em peeled and keep posting (large or small finds)

Got some more packs of peanuts today (seeing as there wasnt much else on offer) I have to say I think this is one of the worst types of misprice - Just charging more because the pack has 20% extra "free" on it, even the CS girl tried saying "oh no, its the 300g packs that are 94p the one you have is 360g and there is no SEL for that!" - yes luv, its only 360g because of the free bit!

Noticed in 2 local Tescos that they now have different SELs at 99p for these now.

Although it seems a widely held view that Tesco are ripping us off by charging more for the 'free' product, I think it's just two promotions overlapping, ie

Promotion 1 = Product + 20% extra free at normal RRP of 99p
Promotion 2 = Standard weight product at promotional price of 94p

If there is an overlap of promotions of this type, the two products may have different bar codes (they do in this case) and will therefore scan as a misprice.

.... I'm beginning to wonder about those 20% extra Cadburys Chocolate bars on multisave which Constantine posted about .... ;)
