  • I know it's a bit OT, but to those who have bought the PS2's, do I need to also buy a memory card as well to play games?

I just noticed on some games it mentions the 8MB card? Does that standard console not come ready to play?

no the console is ready to go, you need a memory card to save your progress in games but you can get along fine without one

Yes, just the same as the England, Scotland, abd Wales (Don't know about ROI though)

Thanks for that, just have to find something to r+r now :)

Also handy to know about the ROI as I do live near the border.

  • Hi all had another got R+R result today, went to big tescos early this morning, got:
    1 x topside beef joint sel special buy £5.18 /kg. pack £6.48
    2 x packs of sirloin steak sel 10.48/kg . pack price 12.48/kg
1 pock roasting joint sel 3.99/kg . pack price 4.99/kg
went to cs and was refunded £28 even though it was same cs assistant who gave me my 1st ever R+R on wed. She was ok about it but said it was about time they got it sorted.

Then called at local tesco on way home, saw willow farm skin on chix breasts sel 8.99/kg, pack price 9.48/kg so picked up the 6 most expensive ones ranging from 3.50- 4.97 But dosy checkout girl scanned the first one and entered 6. didnt realise till saw recipt so it looked as though was actually undercharged at£22

But then though because of sel was still probably overcharged, went to cs expecting just to get 1 refund, cs said wasn't it you who was in on wed buying the same chix, said yes but still same sel!! and explained about swiping all at same price.
She said would have to speak to manager as not sure what to refund, manager came and didnt even bother to go look at sel once said about till, and just said no problem just refund whole £22!!:

    Total R+R £115 !! in 3 days:j :T :j
but wont try now for a while as freezer full with enough meat to last a month at least and not that gready to do it when i dont actually need it.:o
    Grocery Challenge Feb 14 £500 / Spent £572.10!
    March 14 £500 / spent £488.45 :j

    I think the OP means £450 a week i.e. £12 per hour.

this would give the £6 for wasting 30 minutes.

A day is made of 24 hours.
If you count the value of your time you need to consider the full 24 hours, as clearly you 'renounce' to part of your spare time to go shopping and this is the cost you have to consider from your total income.
450 pounds in a week would give you 64 pounds worth of income in a full day i.e. a value of 2.67 pounds an hour. Half an hour would then be worth "only" 1.3 GBP.

I assumed he calculated 450 pounds gross a day, which is ~18 an hour, i.e. 9 gross for 30 minutes, which is around 7 net (close to the 6 pounds he mentions!).

If not done already, clearly the calculations should be done over 24 hours.

    Hi

I bought two loaves of bread. On my receipt I had been charged for two, then another one (i.e. three in total). What should I have been refunded? They only gave me the money back for one loaf (the loaf I did not buy). Is that correct? CS said I would have got all three refunded if they had gone through as three all together, but becasue they went through as two then one, I had only been overcharged on the one

Used to work on cs. I would have refunded you for 2, one which you didnt buy and an extra one for being overcharged (makes up for the inconvenience) Think they have been a bit mean!

Bit touchy aren't we? It's quite possible that somebody in NI could live closer to an ROI store than one in their own country, or at least be within "range". Clearly this is not the case with Dover.

Sorry its just because I hate change that dislike the way most people just add ROI like Northern Ireland is part of the "free-state" or ROI for most of you. lol. If you answered with "I dont know about the ROI as some people might be closer to a Tesco Ireland store then a Tecso (UK) store.

Wow, didn't expect this calculation to be so closely scrutinised. But there again this is a forum where people are clearly looking at figures very closely.
OK here's the calculation: Averge weekly wage £450 (not mine, but based on a quick Google), divided by working week of 38 hours = £11.82 per hour or £6 per half hour.
I understand what you're saying but my personal time is worth at least the same as my working time, probably more. In any event I haven't included any allowance for the opportunity cost, so my calculation is underestimated rather than overestimated.

BTW, it's not He it's Kev

A flyer (leaflet) is delivered with a local freepaper. It is Tesco specific and is 12 pages. It details Tesco prices including Buy one get one free offers. On page 1 of the page un numbered flyer the cans of hot dogs are quoted. On page 4 of the un numbered flyer the Foxes Glacier mints are quoted. Both buy one get one free. Others are listed and match the shelf edge labels in both stores. However not the hot dogs or the mints are SEL or discounted at the tills. This qualifies for a full p&p.The misprices reported were active yesterday at 2pm.You will need to present the flyer to support the claim at customer services as there is no shelf edge label stating bogof in either store.

Does the flyer not have a disclaimer in it? Something along the lines of "prices correct at time of going to press".

yes, something like that. Tesco were advertising a pc on one of these flyers for £399 and when I went, flyer in hand to buy it, was told it was a 'misprint' and it was fifty quid dearer
  • Hi, Just started the Money Saving stuff, I have made more tesco points this time than ever before.

1 question about this misprice thing, if there is a yellow Shelf end sticker giving a price but when you get to the checkout you get charged a higher price, you can go to CS and get a refund on the item and keep it.

but the yellow stickers have dates on them so does that mean if the date has run out it is my fault for not looking close enough.

Just need some clarification before I end up all embarresed at CS for not getting it right.

    Thanks
