Right i'm worried now..
i admit ive had my fair share of r&r's in the last 6 weeks but i'm owed a few bit of dosh on two particular things and had a letter 2 weeks ago saying chq is in the post and an appology, i rung today to check what was happening and the guy knew who i was.. i only said " hi i'm ringing up regarding a chq for my refund on two items.." and he knew who i was...bearing in mind i spoke to this chap 2 WEEKS ago. I do use my tesco credit card which is linked to my Clubcard for every r&r... and now i'm crapping myself. All the stuff ive had is going to a good cause tho.
Thoughts please??0 -

Generally I try to add a few items that I need - essential groceries - cheap bits & bobs - cans of Stella Artois etc.
Obviously this will disguise any pre-meditated R&R when you go to CS.
Another tactic - which can be useful for more expensive R&Rs - is to just get the item and say £10 cash-back - then at the CS desk I'll mutter about how the cash-back threw me when I was paying at the till.
Good luck,

Going to Tesco tonight, want to try the 'buy 2 annuals for £8' R+R, has this worked for anyone today and is it the Noddy Annual that is causing it? This was suggested to be the case on another thread.

After reading your thread I went to Tesco for a look around. Spent about 1hr in there looking at SEL's (did a bit of shopping anyway)but self scanned at scanner location 5 mobile phones (the L6)as they had white label but all scanned cheaper. Also looked for out of date promotions none I could find....
Has anyone got any pointers for me as I love a bargin?
Thanks Lisa
Top stuff - a newbie who has actually gone out and tried to walk the R&R walk......
I posted this a while back - hope it helps (apologies to the 'veterans'):
"Which Mis-price?"
#1 - The Gotcha - This is the least contentious mis-price - you have the Bay City Rollers Greatest Hits with a £1.98 sticker on and you are charged £19.99 - easy pickings - even the nastiest Customer Service staff will find it difficult to argue against this one – although your taste in music is $^*&”)$*.
#2 - Quality Meat - This covers mis-priced per kg SELs - usually meat - often cheeses and so on - your kangaroo joint has a SEL of £9 a kg - on the pack it is £10 a kg - you may have to give the CS staff a lesson in mental arithmetic dyslexia - and point to "the shelf" bit in the Price Promise - but you will get some joy.
#3 - The Time Traveller - Out-of-date crispy duck is no good for you - but out-of-date SELs are always handy - look for goods with a yellow SEL - check the expiry date - if it was last night/week/year then you could be in - check the price and you may be in - some caution - sometimes goods have not changed in price – but particularly good spots for mobiles & cameras.
#4 - The Special Offer - this covers extra advertising away from any stickers or SELs - "all XBOX games under £30" and the like - if you find one for £30.99 you have a mis-price - also check the repeating TV adverts in Extra stores - you may see Tomb Raider 7 - Laura's Melons at a lesser price – but you do have a mis-price - but you will undoubtedly face an uphill struggle with CS as you argue your case - worth a punt!
#5 - We Don't Go Outside - when Tesco run big promotions - '50 cans of Carlsberg for £10 and your sister traded in' - they will sometimes put up big signs outside - pay attention - outside the store. Check these out the day after said promotion finishes - sometimes the outside signs are still in place - grab yourself a pallet of beer, argue with CS and check into AA in a couple of day’s time………..
Have fun Dudes - and remember to report your findings on the mis-price thread!

Hi Normal
Do you not have a scanner in your store?Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0 -

Why are you worrying??Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0 -
bliss wrote:Another post.... i've been reading about out of Date SEL's, and that people go looking for these as they know they will be overcharged... will tesco not say that because they are out of date the offer has finished and they are within their rights to charge higher price? And therefore you will not receiev the R&R?
Thank you
this is where things get really complicated....yesterday
I was drawn in to one of these yellow label offers that expired on 2/10/06 thinking 'hmmm i'm bound to get r&r on this'...guess what, the offer came off at the tillnow work that one out.

yes, don't worry. Until they change the big 'if things don't add up' poster behind cs desk to include 'customer only allowed x number of r&r's in x amount of time, you are not breaking ANY law.
Remember the 'ethical/moral argument is a different issue to the legal one.
Tesco not only break most people's moral code but also break UK law every time they overcharge.0 -
Wow.....that was useful....so by your logic there shouldn't be one single post in this entire forum as we should all go and 'find out for ourselves'
Why say that and then ask what the game of the week is?
Why dont YOU go and find out for yourself....
Congratulations, you just made the most contradictory post of the century and succeeded in nothing more than making yourself look like an idiot.
i'm not going to spindle this thread into a 1000 page rant like some intend to, I do not want an xbox/psp and so I will not be looking, but on this thread you will see question upon question all this afternoon and weekend asking what the current games of the week are for the consoles at some point someone will put a list up, I was merely asking if anyone knew to please post it as that way we can just quote the page when repeatably asked over and over
As for your last comment.......................................coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0 -
