oh dear, you have allowed the troll to come back, please, just do not answer his posts. You know who I mean.

There is a certain person trying to get this thread closed.

The ONLY way he can do it is by causing arguments.

If you answer any of his posts, at all, then you are helping him.

Just shout at the screen, put your hands on your head, and look away.

He will go as soon as you stop playing with him.

I think that is unfair commet, the person appears to be fairly new to the forum and they objected to another poster being rude and insulting to them.
That does not make them a troll, or me a troll (before you accuse) for defending them.

Hi, well I can see how the first page of the thread doesn't quite show you what to look for, but for newbies I would advise to start off looking for things people have posted as wrongly priced, on the misprices thread. Not phones or xboxes, just some simple stuff like 300g Fruit Shoots or BBQ Doritos (offer fails) or the Peanuts where the price is clearly 95p on the SEL and the till charges you more. No need to go to self-service checkouts, I always go to a cashier.

Or maybe find the 2 for £5 SEL for Quality St, Celebrations, Heroes (scanning 2 for £6) but you will have to check out lots of stores to find wrong SELS left up.

Then get used to taking your item and receipt to CS and saying vaguely 'it looks as though the price on my receipt is more than I think it was on the shelf'. Then keep quiet, let them check it out (maybe follow them to the shelf) then only comment further if they offer you the difference, when you will need to politely point out the policy.

You can easily find mispriced meat/fish yourself. Just get used to checking the price per kg on the SEL against the packs, often the older packs will be at the previous, higher price and will scan as such but only if they have been worked out by weight.

DON'T PICK up more than 6 packs of anything for an R&R, and with phones & electricals only pick up one (or two if you are sure you can, if necessary, calmly explain to CS why you would need two toasters etc). You WON'T get away with 20 phones!

Gradually you will start to notice and remember prices because you will be in a Tesco most days! You will also notice offers ending, and perhaps make a mental note to check the day after expiry if the SEL has been left out. But often offers are extended anyway...

Finally, some CS staff are lovely and other complete dragons, but always stay calm and don't be intimidated or drawn into any argument. If necessary repeat your reasoning like a cracked record, if you are sure you are right.

    HTH :o

Ah thank you so much for that post! :) I know I posted it in the wrong place, so thanks.

With meat etc, I guess I am looking for the little SEL ticket which is the standard one on the shelf for all of the products, and then comparing this to the ticket on the individual meat ticket. So the SEL on the shelf may say £2.59 per KG, and my individual ticket on the pack might say £2.85 per KG or something?

I guess I just need to get my head around it all.

Would it be advisable to collect a basket full of these products and then taking, for example, 10 different products to the CS and saying there seems to have been a problem?

The nearest Tesco to me is a good bus ride away, and its much easier for me to go to Asda or Morrisons, but, if I can become confident and knowledgable enough to try this, I really want to.
  • Then Monster Deals wades in with "keep your mouth shut" after passing comment on rude posts ?!

    In the interests of accuracy.

    I didn't say that.

I said my Mother always says 'If you can't say something pleasant, keep your mouth shut'.

    There is a difference.

    Lol! :j

I don't mind the bus -my car is at home as I rarely need it during term time.

Can you imagine the huge queue of MSE'ers at the CS desk waiting to get their R+R? :p:p

Why do people (looking at you - YesButNoBut) insist on quoting a lengthy post and then adding an inane comment on the end ? What a waste of space !

Wether the comment is inane or relevant it comes down to a lack of ettiquite and simple bad manners.

Do u guys do a normal shop and then add in a few items you know you will get the R&R on, or do you just go in the shop and just get the things you know you will get R&R on, meaning you leave having spent absolutely £0?!
