Do u guys do a normal shop and then add in a few items you know you will get the R&R on, or do you just go in the shop and just get the things you know you will get R&R on, meaning you leave having spent absolutely £0?!

i do a shop and may/may not get one or 2 items, if its a biggie like the xbox i try not to go in my local store cos i live 500 yards from it. But the odd steak or doritos etc then i dont mind doing in my local shop, its 24 hours so theres always different people on the cs desk anyway

  • Bl**dy hell, Just had a loooooooong discussion on the phone with HO about the L6 issue.

Basically, the store have told HO that "the L6 was not included in the offer" (10% off all PAYG mobile phones.)
Have spent the past 20 minutes trying to explain to CS duty manager from Dundee that it is illegal practise for them to advertise 10% off all payg phones, and then charge the full amount on the one I buy just because "that one is not included", with nothing to tell the customer that.

    It is the store in question that are the problem I believe, and my next course of action is to get the supervisor that is lying to HO about what is included in the offer and the wording of the advertising to sign the leaflet and this statement;
"This leaflet was on display next to the mobile phones at the time of purchase by Mr ********. There was nothing to inform customers of exclusions from this offer.
As the phone is not pictured on this leaflet we are allowed to charge customers the same price that the phone in question has been for the past few months, with no 10% discount."
I will then send this statement to Trading Standards.

I think I'll have difficulty getting them to sign it, don't you?

    But imagine if they do...

Another post.... i've been reading about out of Date SEL's, and that people go looking for these as they know they will be overcharged... will tesco not say that because they are out of date the offer has finished and they are within their rights to charge higher price? And therefore you will not receiev the R&R?
    Thank you

I normally do some 'normal' shopping as well. However, never enough so that Tesco doesn't make a whopping %tage loss every time I enter one of their stores. I'm not bothered if some people find that distasteful, I'm personally proud of the fact that since I've been R&R'ing, Tesco has lost money on EVERY single shop I've done there.

Their profit margin would appear to average out at 6% of turnover, btw.

    Hi
After reading your thread I went to Tesco for a look around. Spent about 1hr in there looking at SEL's (did a bit of shopping anyway)but self scanned at scanner location 5 mobile phones (the L6)as they had white label but all scanned cheaper. Also looked for out of date promotions none I could find....
Has anyone got any pointers for me as I love a bargin?

    Thanks Lisa

Went to my local and saw 825g Willow Farm Chicken Thighs and Drumsticks. SEL £3.19 Pack £3.32. I thought I'd struck gold and bought 2 packs. The packs went through for £3.10 each! No r+r there sadly. I couldn't be bothered to take it back for a refund as I'll eat it anyway.

Gotta be careful with the 'pack price' ones, they often do scan lower than what it says on the pack, the per kg ones are the bankers for R&R...
