has anyone had any experience of skipping the CS desk out and going straight to ho. I had alot of trouble with my store over the xbox and feel cheeky and embarrassed to go back their.

The item im looking at is a psp with out of date gotw poster, but if i go to ho their is no proof the poster is their and what stops the store from lying and saying it wasn't their.

    look forward to your replys

HO are still supporting the store in my case ( Sony Ericsson k300i white SEL 44.97 Discount didnt come off. When queried a yellow SEL appeared suggesting original price was 57.97 and that in fact i had received the discount despite the fact that I had no way of knowing the original price was 57.97.) Any suggestions of what I should do next?

Joe in your case the store is actually correct.

No store has control over the colour of the labels, nor do they have control over what discounts are printed on them. They are all centrally automated.

What happens on some occasions and appears to have happened in this case is that the new label for the phone with the discount on it has been incorrectly processed at HO level as needing a white label.

The PI dept have put out the new (white) label with the discounted price on it but with no crossout. You arrive, buy your phone and point out that it appears that no discount has been applied.

The mistake regarding the white label with no crossout will have been flagged at HO level who would then have loaded the correct information into the system in order to transmit that evening. This would then force a new yellow label to appear for the phone that you have bought.

If for some reason (and there could be many) this label has not been displayed by the PI team - dont know what time you went into the store but it may be that they simply hadnt arrived at that label yet - hence your confusion and the appearance of an overcharge.

Unfortunately for you, the discount had been applied, you simply had no clear indication of that fact.

  • What the general waiting time for HO to get back to you? Couple of hours? Or couple of days?

I dont know how many times this has to be posted but photography of any kind is not permitted in Tesco stores without the express permission of the store manager.

Add to that the fact that your photo would show a clear intent to claim your money back before you had purchased the product and you are not helping your case.

The phone I tried for with no success was the ericsson js2301. The price was £44 and they told me the original price was 10% over that

Bought an l6 no 10% off.

CS refused on the basis that it wasn't on the leaflet ( )

Tried making them see the light for a couple of minutes but didn't want to cause an argument with the nice CS girl acting under her supervisors orders...

Phoned HO in the carpark, said they'd phone back...+didn't.

Phoned HO again and they actually rang back this time, saying they are allowed to advertise phones as having 10% but charging full price, and if I wanted to know which phones are not included in "10% off all payg phones" then I should have asked a member of staff. They also said Trading Standards would back them up on this. Offered 10% as 'goodwill'

I'm about to phone HO and (forewarning them of course), record the call, then ask them if they think that Trading Standards allow such practise. Interesting eh?

On the other hand, this matter has been widely publicised, what is to stop a chancer (and i am in no way inferring that this is the case mike, just happened to pick up on your post) from saying that it was there when it wasnt. This is the reason that customer services should ALWAYS be your first port of call, only if you get no joy there should you go to HO.

I agree with Spa's post. You are not allowed to take photos without permission of the store. The only time I have ever taken a photo in store as a customer, I asked permission and was given it. This was after I'd been overcharged, I hasten to add!
