I've read this a few times and really can't work out what you're trying to say.

Everything is correct, except you were refunded 56p too much.

Sorry mate, you missed the earlier post, the expired yellow sel was 2 for £5,
but the scan came out @ 3.28 each with 2 for 6£ in the multi save box and deducted the dif from that instead of the dif on the 2 for 5 offer.
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

I think this explanation is a little confused between (a) the forecast and (b) the outturn. "The accounts" are, I assume, based on the price at which an item was actually sold, not the price it was expected/forecast to be sold at.

Therefore, if Tesco buy something for 60p and sell at £1, they make 40p profit on that item. When they sell at £1.05, they make 45p profit. That's it, easy! Nothing to do with accounts being calculated differently from when the buyers decided to increase the price - accounts are based on actual sales.

So Tesco make an extra 5p profit on each item.

    If only this were true.

Tesco's goes to the buyer and says we want XXXX amount but we are only going to give you 30p now we have cut your ties with all other companies. If you dont give us it for that price we will get it from another supplier and undercut you so much you will go under.

Yes, I know all that. So, if you see a 2 for £5.00 SEL on Quality Street, Bendick's Mingles, Mars Celebrations etc, you've got a guaranteed R&R, as the current offer is 2 for £6.00. The point is that if all the SELs you see are 2 for £6.00, you won't get R&R because the 56p discount will be applied and this will be correct.

i saw a GOTW poster with an xbox360 and Godfather on it today.....and guess what. The poster didn't have any £20 off when you buy written on it! Have Tesco changed their offer?

If you look closer at the poster you will see they have covered it up with white stickers.I noticed this last friday when looking in a couple of stores and thinking YES the posters are up,lol.Only to find the offers covered up.

    from how i read it...was charged £3.28 each....therefore £6.56 refund...yes/no

No. He got the 56p discount, so was only charged £6.00 for the two boxes. Therefore he should have got £6.00 back.

Absolutely agree! They've tried that quite a few times - the case I'm thinking about it the chap who originally grew potatoes, and then built up a crisp business. He refuses to sell to Tesco. Good man.

....... and we really should have posted this on the discussion board. Sorry everybody, sorry Redfox.

Profile - Don't R&R everything you read here or find - go for stuff you really need or want - do you really need that packet of mis-priced soya? - if you are pestering CS on a daily basis for small R&Rs then you will get noticed as a 'regular' and risk a store ban.

Come on don't think you can get away with keeping that to yourself, whats the deal on the mispriced soya then.:rotfl: :rotfl:

And do you really believe that Tesco funded the £20 discount and not the supplier?

I dunno. I know exactly how tesco behaves with it's suppliers but I think it may have found a match with Gem Distro/Microsoft.

Can you really see billy-boy handing over 1mil in used twenty notes to leahy? I think we've as much chance of seeing him give leahy a gobble under the table.

    EDIT, just seen:
This means the supplier is still giving Tesco the discount, which Tesco fails to pass on to the customer if it pulls down all POS due to till error.

Which I agree with, so I suppose Gem will be funding it indirectly, due to the stores not displaying the POS material.
