Still not quite right. "The legal inventory value" is of no relevance here. The remaining stock at the end of the year will be valued at the LOWER of cost or net realisable value, in this case the 60p Tesco paid for it in the first place. The sales figures have been increased further by all those extra 5 pences, without any additional increase in costs (or stock value). Therefore extra profit!

It might be only 5p extra, but every little helps (especially when you are aiming for over £2 billion).

I have missed something or is this the Tesco mis-price discussion thread?

I think you Dudes need to get on the Tesco ethics thread and confuse those !!!!!!s over there.......;)

Uh oh, Anglo-Saxon accounting reality. As far away from me as brain surgery. I'm thinking too German, probably.

Anyway, that makes it totally easy now. Realised sales up, purchase cost stable, profit up.

    Lightbulb starts flickering faintly.

Are people still getting banned from MR. T's ? Has any one heard from HO today?

Here are some tips on how not to get banned from Mr Tesco PLC and his wonderful aisles of goodies:

Greed - Despite what that Dude who's got the Welsh bit of fluf from Wall Street said - it's not good. If you try and get 20 XBOXs and 45 PS2s and only a dozen PSPs then don't be surprised when HO click on to the fact that you may be abusing the system (in their eyes).

Profile - Don't R&R everything you read here or find - go for stuff you really need or want - do you really need that packet of mis-priced soya? - if you are pestering CS on a daily basis for small R&Rs then you will get noticed as a 'regular' and risk a store ban.

Geography - Spread it around if you have the means - shop at more than one store - try Metro or Express stores - R&Rs apply at these too.

Timing - Look out for shift changes - if you are attracting attention from a certain CS Dude then go shopping after a shift change.

Attitude - Be polite, calm and prepared to walk away from difficult CS staff with contentious mis-prices (eg 10% off a phone leaflet) if you can live with not getting the R&R - you can always return the item for a full refund - and you can go back again firm in the belief that you will not be remembered as a 'difficult' customer.

I had to wrestle my R&R demons today, I was SO tempted to get a Noddy annual (or two) just to be part of the "in crowd" on here!

Resisted the temptation though, have no need for Noddy annuals at all but have felt a bit left out what with all the boasting on here!
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

I agree with 99% of that but if you are having difficulty getting a refund it is always nice to say......

"how come you gave me 99p back last week when you over charged me on Peanuts by 5p but just because it is a PSP you dont want to know"

Always seems to put them down a peg or two!!!
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

Sorry Frequent, I don't understand. If the sign said 2 for £5.00 then £1.56 should have been deducted.
If the sign said 2 for £6.00 then 56p should have been deducted.
    Could you clarify please.

I did get mine anyway, just hope temptation dosen't kick in as they're for Christmas.

    From till roll:

    q/s 3.28 * 2

bottom till roll says multibuy savings:

    chocolate 2 for £6 - 0.56p

    I was refunded £6.56.

Now i'm thinking that the multi save prices don't add up either so watch out,
perhaps poss r&r on multi saves not coming off.

Anyone else had this happen before ?
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

You make it sound like some people reading this thread go for stuff they don't need or want Dude...I can't believe that:rotfl:

As I R+R on my general shopping, writing down all the prices, and finding R+Rs that way, I can honestly say I have an good relationship with my local CS staff. They know me by name, as I do them. Makes R+Ring a whole load happier as they know I'm pointing out the every day items and makes it far less embarrassing when i start the conversation with "only 3 things wrong today..."

I've read this a few times and really can't work out what you're trying to say.

Everything is correct, except you were refunded 56p too much.

Oops, sorry. After all those boring pages about Xboxes, I finally found something interesting! Still, I'm off over to the discussion lot now, and I'll take my German friend with me. Du bist mein freund, nicht wahr?
