Ah, Benas on Toast, how I share your feelings. Since hubs hurt his back, I seem to be constantly suffering from racing heart, unable to sleep, and my thoughts dominated by the feeling of impending doom.
The thing is, you're not dealing with debt alone are you? Right now, in my opinion, you need to stop worrying about the finances, beyond your needs, and concentrate on yourself and the children. Your partner seems to need help that you are unable to give.
Can you keep your finances separate? A friend had a marital breakdown. They continued to live in the same house, as the council considered she and the children to be adequately housed. But he spent the cash, leaving nothing/little for her to manage with. She contacted Social Security, and they gave her her own money. Perhaps you should contact them and see what help you can get. The CAB are also available for advice.
Good luck pet.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0
