Ive been trying to set up my online account, with no luck, so i emailed the virgin team and they've just replied back saying that the phone is registered to someone else.

How an earth is that possible? does that mean i will be receiving their bill and vice versa ?

I had this at first when trying to set up my account on-line. It turned out that they had got my e-mail wrong which i discovered when i requested the e-mail details i had given them. Because the mail was wrong it thought another person was trying to set up account on my number and thats why it said someone else already had that number!

ahhh bingo, thats exactly what happened with me, when my dad ordered it he gave a different email address to the one i now use currently, so they thought the same. But i've now spoken to them on the phone and they said they'd contact me within the next 72hours to let me know that its all sorted out....fingers crossed.

oh yes! I'd forgotten that bit, the online account facility didnt work for me either because they wrote my email addy down wrong!

Havent checked it yet to see if it's right.

today, I asked for some credit on my account to compensate for having to make calls to mobiles from my home phone, which is costly. The lad was going to speak to his manager and phone me back....this morning....

  • The cost of phoning a mobile for a cable customer via www.call18185.co.uk has now reduced to 6p per minute with a 4p connection charge inline with what BT users pay.

    Just spoken to them again.

They have passed the porting problem onto T mobile, the network provider. They said it could take another 48 hours to resolve. So on monday they said by midnight, tuesday within 24 hours, today withim 48 hours. What next!!

  • If you have a phone or TV deal with NTL you can get an exalent deel with Virgin mobile. The deal includes a phone, no contract, 300 mins to uk landlines or uk mobiles plus 300 texts per month. All for £10 per month. You just have to ring Virgin, ask for the NTL deal and give your NTL account number. I just did it - the new phone came next day. No choise of hand set, but the one they sent is not bad.

    Ring Virgin on 08456000789.

I think its open to Telewest account holders too.

I emailed Virgin if they sold any data cables and they replied back recommending this website http://www.m-99.co.uk/virgin-lobster-575.html

Hi - long time lurker, first time poster :-)

I've got this NTL/Virgin deal and am very happy with it. One quick question though. Does anyone know if/how I can dial 08xx numbers and have them come out of my inclusive minutes? I'm hoping if we can use 07744 etc. numbers to make international calls, this will be possible. Anyone know for sure?

    Thanks,
    W.

You can call 07744 numbers out your inclusive x-net contract minutes but calls to 08 numbers are chargeable.;)

Hi, and thanks for the reply
I knew the above, but what I wanted to know if there was anyway of getting calls to 08xx numbers come out of my inclusive minutes - possibly with an 07744 type sceme (I've used briing successfully to call a French mobile  )

    Thanks again,
    W.

Would someone please explain what I need to do to use this 07744 number? My dad is in a care home and it would be nice if he could speak with family in Ireland using my mobile. I'm on Virgin.

    Thanks.

PS, OK, I've done a Google on it and think I'm on the right track.
