That's going to be tricky to do since the supply has been disconnected...No free lunch, and no free laptop

Even if you owe your LL money you can still contact Shelter. It is a dangerous and very unhealthy situation you are in. I understand that it is hard to contemplate moving due to the costs, but you could also with the help of Shelter or CAB ask from help of the local authority. Don't sit around waiting for your LL to sort this out! It is your responsibility to your family to make sure you all are safe. Just have a chat with CAB or Shelter, they will walk through your options step by step and won't do anything you are not comfortable with. Their correspondence could be helpful with renting something else.I never realized how much personal info is out there that can be used and abused to suit every purpose.0

"Yes I do have a live gas supply but when the gas board come out they disconnected the pipe from the gas meter then my landlord come out and reconnected it and told me that there isn't a gas leak and nothing to worry about "That's going to be tricky to do since the supply has been disconnected...0 -
I wonder what else he is doing. Does his mortgage company know he is renting a property out? What about tax office too?
If he is prepared to blatantly break the law assuming he isnt qualified to reconnect gas that has be turned off due to safety the I cant help but wonder is total disregard for your well being and the law
