Right action stations!! Have told OH that we need to get our act together and really start being sensible with money and the amount we are wasting. I don't mean random spends but mainly in the food department, we are forever throwing things away as out of date and opt for a quick takeaway or grab something from co-op on route home because we can't be bothered to cook properly.
I really see this as an area we can save some £'s Also OH spends a lot of money on food at work, and although he has no debts it still would be better spent on something else for himself. That said he is changing jobs and going over to another dept where shifts will mainly be days so that'll mean no more lates or night - yay :j Also means that he can take a lunch in each day and save himself some money. Best to do that has he has a 50-60mile round trip anyway to work and back so diesel is enough to pay out on I think!! Also OH spends a lot of money on food at work, and although he has no debts it still would be better spent on something else for himself. Shopping with a list tonight as we have run out of a fair bit and then it's on to online shopping, that way we only buy what we need and none of the extras like a magazine, or the latest shower gel/cakes on offer
No plan of action for me today as I am working until 6:30pm and want to go for a run and food shopping this evening - pretty much takes up my time me thinks....unless I can get OH to go shopping with list this afternoon. That said he'll be tired as up at 5am.
I've got just over £100 in current acc and paid on Monday....downside is I have a trip to London Fri morning for meeting - £50 odd quid and being public sector don't get to claim it back  That said if I can resist spending anything this weekend I may just be able to transfer a few more £'s to the debt savings fund :T
Anyhow, best get back to work. Have a good day all,
 Choc x0

            Morning,
How wet and miserable is it out there!
Managed food shop and run last night
Although....:eek::eek:.....food shopping is soooooooooo expensive. I spent £27 odd last night and for that I only got -
Meats (3 for £10 offer so not even the decent stuff!)
 Toothpaste
 Handwash x 2
 Peperroni
 Cheese
 Bag of pasta
 Smoothie
 Apples
 New Pots
 Muesli
 Milk
 Squash
 Savoury eggs
Think that was it and I opted for the cheapest (budget brand) where it was possible.....oh my goodness no wonder all our money goes on food shopping. Certainly an area for review to see what I can do to save us a few £'s on next one. I didn't even sway from the list, literally in there for half an hour just getting each item i'd written down
I'm thinking of asking for a slow cooker and also a bread maker for Christmas from my mum and also my dad. Will investigate further, don't want snazzy ones as for some reason I don't want people wasting their hard earned money on me for Xmas - must be this site changing my thoughts! Also want to ask for gifts for the house (home ) as would prefer that then some smellies I probably won't ever get around to using. ) as would prefer that then some smellies I probably won't ever get around to using.
Gosh it's amazing how you start thinking more practically when regularly posting on this site.
 Thursdays To-Do-List
 Work until 6pm
 Go for run
 Eat sensibly
 No spend day
Straight forward and simple I think. Off to friends this evening and we'll go for a run together so will make it more interesting. Last night was so cold I thought my ears had frozen!!! Took ages to get them back to normal after, really stung. Going to weigh myself on Sunday but hopeful to get down to the 10.5 mark, fingers crossed
Right back to work. Have a good day all,

Just been thinking to myself that I have managed to put aside £400 this month from my pay, potentially more if any left at end of month. So in theory I have actually paid in excess of £1000 off of my debt this month!
Wow! If I can keep this up then it'll be a good 12k less by end of next year bringing my debt total down to less than 25k.....now that is mental motivation for me!!! :D:D Must keep it up, def method in my madness :D:D Must keep it up, def method in my madness 0 0

            Well done Choc, £1000 is a great monthly payment, if I could do that I'd be debt free! VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0

Hi Choc, sorry I haven't popped in for ages! Sounds like you have lots on the go at the moment . Our sofa came from Homebase and is brown too, most of our flat is beige and brown with some crimson chucked in for good measure. . We spend a fortune on food, probably around £60 a week! I take packed lunches but OH doesnt, he buys food every day too . I am definately getting more into online shopping as I can plan what I want and I don't get the 'offer temptation' so much! Tesco kindly emailed me a £5 off my next online shop voucher today too. I bet you can't wait for your sister to come home , are you going to take some time off? , are you going to take some time off?

Online shopping hopefully will help us, also OH going onto mainly day shifts so taking lunch will also be helpful.

            Morning!
Not a good start to my day. Supposed to be in London for morning briefing but I was still awake a 3am (depite being in bed before 10 ) so have decided that I will go on the afternoon breifing. Bit of a pain as takes a big chunk out of my day work wise but there was no way in this world I could get up at 5am, bad enough when I got up at 7
In some respects it benefits me as cheaper travel wise as later in day heading to London but not so on work wise. Hey ho, what can we do.
Have overtime both Sat and Sun so have that to look foward to and then have reached my 30hrs for Dec pay in overtime - woo hoo! Hoping can sneak in 4 more hours next week but just depends on whether they do midweek overtime and cut off date. I'm taking every session going at the moment! I have Monday off so don't mind working both days this weekend.
Right, enough waffling from me - hope everyone has a lovely day,
 Choc x0
