I've decided to start a new diary (again
) to mark the start of a new chapeter in my life and [STRIKE]hopefully [/STRIKE] the beginning of my journey to ending my debts once and for all!
So, what's new.....well OH and I moved into our very first 'own' home early August
We're very much happy and enjoying making it ours. First project was hall, stairs and landing - we've nearly completed it, just a few spindles on stairs to paint and then tis done :j Very proud of it and it looks fab. Prob couple more bits to buy pic frame wise and need to find a nice coat stand but the decorating bit is finished and i'm sooooooooooo happy with it
Next room, lounge - bring it on!
Anyhow it's been a busy and very tough month or so for one thing and another but things are finally settling and I now feel ready to embark on some 'proper' debt busting and generally organising my life back to normality again, if that's at all possible?!
Since moving i've been talking with a few close friends re money and it seems that they are in similar situations re debt and having lack of funds (all for differing reasons) but we've now said we'll do something once a month, on a budget/with vouchers, socialising so that we get a night out for cheap. This month was a meal at Prezzo with voucher deal £10 for starter, mains and drink - we all added hot choc each so ended up a lovely eve out for just £12 in total - not bad at all eh! We kind of see it as a challenge now to get a night out for as cheap as poss :rotfl:
My plan is to update my diary daily from now on noting my achievements, aims, goals and so on so that I can keep on track and end 2010 on a debt busting high
So little to do list for today -
Have a good day all,

Congratulations on moving into your own home together , its a lovely feeling owning your own place even better when you start doing it up to how you like it . Its great that you and your friends are in a similar boat so you can support each other and you won't ever have to feel like a penny pincher around them. I'm very inspired by your 4 mile run , I really should do more than just walk the dog !Good luck with your debt busting and getting everything on track x0

When I talk to my friends about debt/money it's amazing how many of them are in similar positions, just that majority of us don't like to admit it

Finally we have a lap top at home now so I am back in MSE land

Had a bit of a wake up call at the weekend, won't go into it but it's made me realise that I have to kick this debt into touch. I'm not stupid in thinking that it'll magically go away and in less than a year, far too much for that but I do know that I am in a situation that I could potentially over the coming year make myself far more comfortable and need to stop being lazy and focus on the debt. There are other things too I want to focus on but all one step at a time, for now I need to start a plan of action for my debts.
So, from now on every spare penny I have will go into a savings account until I decide what I can do with it i.e. settle a debt, pay lump sum off etc etc. I shall wait until I have a significant amount and then make some decisions.
Debt is now sub 40k and well on it's way by early Nov to being sub 39k which is fab. I need to relook at budget and really start focusing.
Anyhow, enough yapping. Time to log onto online banking and make some real steps forward and get myself sorted!
Have a good day all,
Choc xx0
