Hello ladies,
I'm still here and lurking about now and again. Things are just SO hectic at the moment I haven't stopped! My sis is home from her travels so been trying to get as much time in with her before she leaves on Sunday
Work is stupidly busy it's really really really stressing me out and some days I find I can't cope with it...never felt like this.
Wedding.....officially set for 28/04/12 :j:j:j Venue all sorted and that is it. We just haven't had a chance to sit down together and discuss things. Hopefully we'll find some time too, we're hoping to go to a local wedding fair this Saturday and research photographers, cars etc.
I have been dress shopping with sis whilst she's been here. Amazing how different a dress you end up liking compared to what you set out in your mind - madness! I do have two dresses I like - can't decide as they are both SO different - decisions decisions. Still no hurry, I can take my time and think about it. Think i've tried between 20-30 dresses on and thankfully have a fav in each shop but i'm all dressed out now and am sitting on the fence on these two.....help!
I need to get back into MSE way of life but decided not to put that pressure on myself right now as some days I feel as though i'm going to explode with everything that's going on. March payday will commence again, overtime in pay and sis gone home so no socialising as much as I have been.
Thanks for posting ladies..... xxx0 -
Morning diary,
After a few posts from my virtual friends and the fact that I am feeling a tad more on top of things, I am recommencing operation 'debt freedom'!!!
For now it's baby steps until things calm down a little but the main thing is i'm back and posting, thinking about the debts and working at clearing them sensibly.
I know i'm not going to be able to clear 36k of debt before we marry but i'm def on a mission to improve this as much as possible so that when we are married I will be financially 'better off' and not paying out a whopping £870+ per month of my wages directly to my debts.

Mini updates....
Total debt as of 01.01.11 = 37,451.84
Current status of accs -
Current acc balance = 336.75 couple more bills to pay so hoping can save some of this by next payday.
Mini - savings
Bday/Xmas - £3.50
Wedding misc -£3.08
Reg savings - £102.47
E-isa - £6.68
Car funds - £3.50
In theory the above mini savings will eventually help me cover all cost required for these events when and as they come up. Never had any savings before really so it's a slow start to building a more financially sound future.
The wedding misc acc is just for me when I see something I like i.e. nice hair clip or shoes....we have a main wedding account to which I put in at least £250 per month at the moment. This is also what OH does and our parents are paying/have paid money into this account. OH and I have decided that this will be used for main wedding cost but we're hoping to do the little things like deposits, stationary, shoes and so on with our own money as and when so that the final bill is as small as possible with no unexpected costs. My dad has also said he will pay for my dress as a wedding present to me, so lovely of him.
The E-isa savings is for long term future savings - probably for when I go on maternity or indeed retire. Not really funds for touching.
Regular savings are my dip in, rainy day fund....probably for holidays etc or household costs that we need to pay out for.
The rest are pretty self explanatory....little steps but I hope that by the end of this year they will be fully utilised and will assist me in those costs that are always there but never budgeted for!!
