Hope you are feeling better now Choc, sounds like you haven't been feeling well at all :(.

The looking at venues etc must be the most exciting part! Am trying to help my workmate as one of her favourites is £98 a head and she thinks she has about 80 day people , such a shocking amount of money!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

    Hey there,

Def on the mend thank you, just stuck with a horrible cough and no energy but hopefully be gone soon!

£98 per head!!!! I told OH we are not looking at any venue that is £80 or more per head.....we keep telling ourselves that it's about us getting married and spending the day with our loved ones, not lining the venue with our hard earned £££'S!!!!!

I just want to get venue and church sorted and then we can sit back and relax a little before starting other things. xx

Hiya Choc, sounds like you've got your head screwed on with the wedding plans. Its about you and OH and your day, not entertaining the troups!
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

Thanks Pen, you are completely right! Once we've decided on the venue and confirmed dates with them and church I want to relax a little and enjoy being engaged as we haven't had the chance what with Xmas, New Year and us both being so ill. I also want to focus on sorting my finances too to start married life in the best way possible for the both of us, that means my finances and joint finances - feeling super motivated and have (if all goes to plan) 14mths to do it!! x

Setting myself a little to-do-list for tomorrow as day off and want to get organised!

    1. Check online banking - set up online mini saving acc to budget
    better and forward plan
    2. Check joint accounts
    3. Remind OH to pay his CC bill
    4. Book viewing with possible wedding venue
    5. Sort through all wedding stuff and file away as necessary and
recycle anything we are not dealing with
    6. Clean carpets (friend coming over with Vax) - money saving!
    7. Sort through spare room
    8. Do washload
    9. Spruce rest of house - polish/dust/hoover
    10. Go for a nice pub lunch with friend and relax for couple of hours.

Think that's about it for now, want to get everything in order as back at work as of Tues and need to be sorted so I can work lots of overtime!!

Managed to do most of my list so that's progress, now resting as still feeling under the weather and getting myself an early night ready for work again tomorrow. Not looking forward to that, bet it's been piling up!

Realised (after checking online banking) that I have got into bad spending habits, meals out, odd trips to tesco, tenner here and there from cash point and so on. It all adds up and is money better spent/saved elsewhere.

So from now on it's back on the DFW wagon and preparing myself for our wedding in 2012 and married life. I want us to have a comfortable lifestyle, not one that is a struggle....that'll mean us being more savy with our spending and me really concentrating on saving to clear those debts in full once and for all.

Not going to write any to-do-lists for tomorrow as it'll be all about work and I may even have to travel into London for a return to work interview after being off sick, although don't really feel up to it and am only really returning to work as can work from home. A soon as I step out the front door or do anything remotely energetic i'm shattered and start coughing like mad :( That said i'd take how I am feeling now compared to last week any day!

We have a couple more venues to visit this week and then OH is away for weekend with the lads so hopefully we'll sit on it and confirm the date we are getting married and then with the venue also - SO excited! It's going to be so nice to know the date we will become Mr & Mrs :D

Right back to money front, I have accounts for the following -
    - bdays & xmas
    - adhoc wedding spends
    - debt repayment final settlement fund
    - car funds

I also have an e-isa that is for future plans/savigns i.e. to subsidise maternity pay, lump sum payments for mortgage etc....this will be added to very lightly in the coming year or so but I will still add to it as it's there for that reason. If I only have £100 in it by the end of the year than that to me is progress, small positive steps. For me it's about forward planning for the next 16 months to ensure that by the time we marry we are in the best possible situation (given circs) to start married life.

Anyhow, here's to a cheap and frugal week ahead ready for pay day on Friday when the savings begin! Yay!

Thanks ladies. I'm feeling tad overwhelmed with everything at the minute so need to take a step back and focus. Seems everyone wants a piece of me at the moment and it's really draining to the point I ended up in tears today - ridiculous!

Time for some thinking and putting perspective on things. Think tonight I will try and tie up some loose ends with the house, paper work etc and then grab me an early night as still not 100% health wise.

On a plus note, received an appt through today for physio on my arms....problem still lingering so that's good.

Will say bye for now, be back tomorrow hopefully with a better frame of mind!

    Choc xx
