  • Action plan -

£50 per week for next three weeks to live off. Will pop (walk!) to cash point tonight and take out £50 and that is to see me through until next Monday. Should be doable as not a lot planned this week/end.

Then following Monday will do the same, £50. However this will be tricky as we are away Wed-Sun. That said everything paid for so will just be fuel between 3 and dinners, which we plan on having themed nights and each taking it in turns....kinda a come dine with me in our cottage. I've got Italian theme. Will hopefully leave a little over from this week to add to next weeks money.

Then week 3 the same and all being well should have some surplus income left over in current account on next payday and be able to throw a nice tidy lump sum at a debt.

Think paying it off the actual debts rather than putting aside is the only way forward to me as too tempted to spend it on other nice things. Aim to do the same the following month £50 per week budgets, will adjust if feel necessary but hopefully this will work allowing me to throw a lot more on a monthly basis at the debts.

Going to sort out my signature now :D

    Welcome back Choc :j

Sounds like you are a very determined lady :). £50 a week should be do-able for you to live on, I think mine worked out about £120 but it helps that I have no friends to go out with and OH is a hermit :rotfl:.

I'm the opposite with savings, especially over the past few years, when I see the total I just want to see it go up, I hate the thought of spending it! You just have to find whatever works best for you. Sounds like your break will be very nice, I would have liked to have gone away for a weekend but I can't justify it when I factor in loosing a nights work as well :(. Look forward to hearing your progress with the house (and debt ;))

  • Argh!!!!! I'm so stressed at the moment, feel like i'm going to explode!!!!

No particular reason, just life in general and it's getting in my way

    Work = craziness
    Life = craziness
Finances = damn right depression right now!

I'm supposed to be running race in 3 weeks and for some reason i'm struggling with my muscles and can't walk for a couple of days after a run - not good.

Yest I feel out of the loft, stupidly went up there on my own in house and didn't think. Misplaced my stepping when coming down ended up hanging on for dear life from one of the rafters (think that's what they are called) hanging about the loft hatch, managed to slit my wrist, graze all my hand and twist my knee in the process of trying not to fall through the hatch.....if anything I scared myself so much couldn't feel the pain of the injuries but am feeling it today.

Think life it telling me to sloooooooooooooooow down some - can't do everything and need to take some slow steps. Hoping break away can do that for me.

Anyway, enough ramblings from me - sorry! Just needed to vent!

    Back to work :-(

Just upped my payments to four of my creditors by a little so will now my debt will def be going down by a further £25 per month :j:T It's only little increases but it all helps and at least I know that this will be coming off of my total debt as there are no charges or interest involved in these accounts.

I've also pretty much sorted all my change of address details for everyone I need to which again is a good thing, takes soooooooooo long!

Ok, mini to do list for me this weekend as follows -
    • work 2 hours overtime this eve (fri)
    • work 7.5 hours overtime tom (sat)
    • tidy about house
    • get on top of washing and drying (dire in this weather)
    • officially start 'proper' diet tomorrow - been living off bad food since moving in and it's noticing :o
    • try and get into garden (weather pending) and cut back some shrubs and also think about winter flowers for pots
Think that's enough to get on with, out with friends for dinner on Sat and Sunday meeting up with a friend which will involve some form of exercise be it a swim or a nice walk in forest. Strangely i'm really looking forward to doing 9.5 hours overtime by the end of the wend as that means Nov pay will be far healthier :D

Have a good one all x

Well done on upping your payments. It all helps.

I hope you have a great weekend and well done on the overtime

I feel at a stand still as all our money is going to wedding things and the like. I can chip away at things but i can't wait until after the wedding when i can set an overpayment of my loan for an extra £400 a month! Only 7 months away but seems ages!! x

:j Yey a new diary, welcome Choc.

I hope you don't mind me subscribing. You sound very motivated to kick those debts into touch. I plan on geting 2010 out of the way and really knuckling down at the start of 2011. (There are a number of reasons for delay).

Good Luck and I look forward to your postings.

PS - Hope you haven't done too much damage to yourself.

Sorry to hear about your tumble Choc, hope you start to feel better and less stressed soon :).

Well done on upping your payments as well, that £25 a month is still an extra £300 a year! It will certainly help! That's a nice amount of overtime as well, it's all heading in the right direction :j

    Morning!

Hope everyone is well this Saturday - it's stopped raining here so feels a little less winter like :-)

Working overtime at the mo, feels good! Although it was cancelled last night so slightly frustrating but hey ho not going to worry about it.

Still sore from my tumble in loft, but at least i'm alive!!!!

In a bit of a dilemma as to what to do for best....whilst talking to creditors yesterday a lot of them told me what they'd accept as a final settlement, some were a good 1k less than outstanding balances etc which is amazing as would probably in total knock about 9k off of what I end up paying back....so.......do I concentrate on saving for settlements or carry on overpaying bits here and there. I think i'm swaying towards that settlements as this could potentially save me thousands in long term and bring me to debt freedomness far sooner!!!! I do have the ability at the mo to do a lot of overtime so potentially save a lot in next six months - maybe set at target of 5k and see how I go.....it's a goal that could see me clear a few of my creditors in one go.

    What do you reckon guys??

    xx
