Anyone used Ross Coates for conveyancing?
Comments
-
I have never registered for a forum before but I am having an horrendous experience selling my house and using Ross Coates. From the first communication - after they took 200 quid up front - they have fallen way short of any level of professionalism. Never respond to emails and phoning them is fruitless as the answer phone never seems to have space on it. My house is an empty buy to let being sold to another investor and yet this company have dragged their feet from the outset.
It's been 3 and a half months up to now and I finally complained last week. I have sent two further emails this week requesting an update and neither has been replied to. They are cheap - don't be fooled, the cost due to the delays to me far outweigh the savings

MJP are a disaster area, we almost lost the house we were buying solelybecause of their ineptitude. MJP promote their online journal tool as a benefitof their service however they use this at the expense of contacting by phonerather than in addition to it, when we discussed this we them they even agreedstating that they are an 'online only service'. Unfortunately the nature of theprocess requires telephone calls to be made to chase different partiesinvolved; MJPs unwillingness to do this resulted in extensive delays and ourbuyers ultimately threatening to pull out.
At various times we tried to contact David Pett who was lead on our casehowever were fobbed off with excuses, we would be told by one member of staffhe was out of office only for another to say he was in the office but notwilling to take calls. We were even told he didn't have a work number we couldreach him on.
A local practice in Norwich, one member of the team on our case states hisaim to be a leading conveyancer in the Norwich area. I'm afraid he and MJP area long way off; even Alan Partridge would have been disappointed with thisperformance.

Has anyone used or have any info on:
Bespoke Law Services - Thelma Horne.
Just looking around for good, efficient conveyancing not necessarily the cheapest
thankyou0 -
Just add, I used a local, well established solicitor in Truro for my last purchase 7 years ago. Almost caused me a nervous breakdown.
They lost almost all of the paperwork including the Deeds to my house!!
So considering the almost half price sell/buy cost of on-line conveyancing I`m considering this route0 -
We are using MJP for both selling and buying and so far had great service. I like the online system as due to my work it's easier responding via the system, although i have called several times I have spoken to someone every time I have called and they even responded(online) to me on Easter Sunday after concerns I expressed in another post ( I expected to have to wait until today ) and after i asked in the journal they called me today to confirm details of issues which have arisen with the purchase (which I did not understand) and also what they are doing about it.
The delays in my house selling have been due to the buyers solicitor and mortgage issues. MJP have been chasing them up and I am able these it all in the journal.
It's not for everyone but I like the internet system so far.Making saving money part of my life.0 -

I am currently using these guys and to say they are non-responsive is an understatement. No voicemail on direct lines so cannot leave messages and solicitor refuses to communicate via email. The other day I was asked to write down everything we had discussed on the phone and post it to so they have a record (admittedly when you get them on the phone it's fine, but the remaining time is terrible!!!). Right now I have no idea where the purchase is and I cannot get in touch with him to find out either. I can't imagine anyone else is worse than this. And they came recommended by a friend but I was assigned a different solicitor. Wish I had seen this thread before.0

Everyone should do a Google search before using these cowboys !
They are listed second on the search page !0 -
Just to add my voice to the chorus, I made a horrible mistake when I chose Ross Coates, and it is he himself whom is managing my case!
I will give more information when my business is finished, but in the meantime stay clear. The negligence is criminal.0 -
Quick update on MJP, it has now been 6 months since we started the process and they still haven't completed everything.0
