Anyone used Ross Coates for conveyancing?

Been getting a few quotes for a sale/purchase and Ross Coates (www.rosscoates.co.uk) is one of the most reasonable and the company isn't too far from where I live. Has anyone used them before as can't find any reviews (good or bad) through Google.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Hello. I've seen this post with no reply. I have the same questions:
Has anyone used Ross Coates solicitors for conveyancing? and same thing about Morgan Jones & Pett (MJP) from Norwich.
I'm buying a house and need to hire somebody! I've read that cheap and online are slow and almost useless, but the 'real' local solicitors are charging me around £300 more and they don't have no completion/no fee scheme. Besides, I'm scared that they will charge me every phone call they have to make at £40 since they are not fixed rates, and have already quoted me £40 for postage, copying, telephone calls, etc. Therefore, I might end up paying double what they quoted.

Talk to the local solciitors and find out how likely it is that they will charge you extra.
I always tell people that my figures are an estimate so I can protect my back against extreme situations or where I have to do work which is genuinely extra to the typical conveyancing transaction. In practice it usually works out that the total is within about £10 either way of what I said in the estimate/quote. You may well find others that take a similar attitude.
Remember also that sometimes (particularly with leasehold properties) there are fees payable to others that can vary a lot and over which we as solicitors have no control at all - so we can only ever give you a guesstimate of them.
Also remember that the ones that appear cheap sometimes hide extras in small print and charge extra for things that don't happen in every case, but perhaps happen in 25-50% of cases, so one questions how fair that is.
Some charge extra for completing in less than 21 days from exchange of contracts and you will find the overwhelming majority of cases complete in that timescale!RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
I have just engaged RossCoates for conveyancing of a sale and a house purchase. They are in Ipswich and I'm near Canterbury. So far it has been positive as they are a smallish firm and not factory conveyors. I'll try to remember to let everyone know how I get on. I suppose if I don't write anything, that will mean it all went smoothly and I had no complaints.0

I'm currently using Ross Coates and have been impressed with the service. I haven't exchanged and completed yet, but the delay isn't down to them.
Phone calls, emails get answered straight away / returned very quickly. I'd have no problem recommending them (well, the guy dealign with my case anyway!)0 -
I'm currently using Ross Coates for conveyancing (sale + purchase) and am very pleased with them so far. If I have a question the solicitor always gets back to me the same day and staff are helpful answering emails and phone calls. They give a detailed quotation. I have opted to pay for some extra searches and they require that up front. Will update report after we exchange contracts.0

Hi there, am thinking of going with RC. Just wondering how it's all still going and if you're still on track? How long has the process taken for you? Any complications etc? Thanks0 -
At long last my sale of my house and purchase of another property is complete. I used Ross Coates. They were much less expensive than local Canterbury/Dover solicitors. They always answered the phone immediately when I had reason to call - same with emails. When there were problems with the buyer's or seller's solicitors wanting this or that, they didn't cave and would advise me to say no. I'd use them again as what I saved nearly covered my removal costs. I profited from my sale by quite a bit and this money did not appear in my bank account immediatey and I did have to chase it with a few phone calls but it did arrive and if they were banking interest, I wasn't going to begrudge them a few quid as I'd saved so much by using them.0
