Anyone used Ross Coates for conveyancing?

Deliah im also going through RC and had same problem my old solicitor [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] left and now its[TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM], really bad service cant ever get through to her during day but she emails at 19:00 at night all the time?????? Other vendor is waiting with contract and RC seem to be dragging heels.this should have been sorted few weeks back but still none wiser on completion.
Not happyWe are using RC at this very moment - a nightmare from the start. We are in real danger of losing the house we are trying to complete on. They have lied, lost files, lost letters, failed to inform us that the person dealing with us 'left' suddenly - the list of complaints is never ending.
We are local and have been in to the office several times - fobbed off, given confirmation 'things are going ahead' then find nothing has been done.
It is soul-destroying. They do not even know when money has been paid directly to them. They are a mess and I am so very angry with them. We have 2 weeks left - then the chain breaks. They have not even chased up the searches, done (so they said) weeks ago.0 -
Yes - a real mess I am afraid. Emails are far and few here. In fact, we are being ignored half the time. Utter shambles. We were told everything was going ahead, nothing needed - waited 2 weeks only for the estate agents to telephone and ask what is going on with our solicitors - so drop into the Ipswich office only to find the man dealing with us 'left' suddenly. Our file had disappeared and it took ages for them to find all the paperwork. Finally we were told we would become a priority case to make up for the lost weeks. Pah. Ignored or placated with useless words. A real disgrace. And all the time, the worry and stress is mounting. If we lose the house, we will sue them for the money already wasted and report them to the Law Society. How dare they call themselves conveyancing solicitors. My cat could do a better job of it. Might employ him next time. So furious with them.0

Ross Coates - they are leaving in their droves. They have lied, taken money and done nothing and we are losing the house. Shocking. DO NOT USE ROSS COATES.0

Report them to Legal Ombudsman and claim compesnation. Don't let them get away with it.0

We have just sold our property - completed 3 weeks ago.
Initially had a really poor service from them - called and spoke to a manager there and complained about the poor service. ( calls not returned,no progress, felt like talking to a brick wall) - to their credit they moved my case to a different solicitor, and she was excellent- emails almost daily, and really pleasant to deal all with. Would recommend again- but only to one particular person.0 -
We are first time buyers and obviously have a lot of questions about what to do and what the next stages are. We hired Ross Coates to help us with what should be an exciting time. They are awful! I am genuinely disgusted with their lack of service and customer service skills.
18 days ago we sent them copies of our bank statements. They have not confirmed that these have been received. We have tried sending two further letters, multiple emails and calling only to either be ignored or told that the only person who can deal with our query is not in the office.
We transferred money to them only to be asked to send the funds as they couldn't proceed without the money. We then gave them the reference, date etc and they had to go away and confirm that we had actually paid weeks ago.
To save a bit of money we moved back in with parents and therefore asked three times (email, letter and phone) for our address to be changed. This has completely been ignored!! And one of us has been left off of the contract even though they have been dealing with me and my other half.
I have contacted the managing partners as a last gasp attempt to find out what we can do if we are being ignored. If this continues we will be forced to get new solicitors and see what (if anything) we can go to recoup our money.0 -
I strongly advise you to instruct new solicitors. They are in a real mess, with over 80 files left on the desk and staff have walked out. We have disinstructed them and a new firm are pulling all the stops out to save our purchase - we only have a few days left before all fails. We have been to hell and back with this - we went in today and there are desperate clients all over the place asking questions. We merely picked up our very scant file and ran. We have told them we will be in contact later re getting money back but at the moment all we can think about is saving our new house. The chap who handed over our file confirmed we had been lied to, as have many others. He said he would give our file to Ross Coates himself but we have lost all faith - and anyway we had already instructed the new solicitors. How can we be expected to believe anything said to us by Ross Coates after all the lies - told in emails, telephone calls and face to face. They lied to the estate agents too, got that in writing for evidence. We are emotional wrecks.0

Avoid, Avoid, - horrible solicitors. I would highly recommend to use some one else instead.0

We are sorry to read the above experiences which are holly un-characteristic to this firm.
We had to remove with out notice 2 fee earning staff and had no choice.
Normally there would be a notice period is such circumstances.
We have therefore had to relocate approx 150 files with the inevitable dislocation of our usually high standards of service.
Matters are progressively settling back to normal and by next week the transitional period should be concluded.

If this is really a post by the practice manager of Ross Coates, then that person needs to improve their spelling and grammar!!!0
