Avoid at all costs !! Same reasons as outlined by most other people.
  • Cheap and not very professional. After two changes in solicitors (never informed beforehand) several out of office responses and non returning of telephone calls we eventually managed to complete in November 2014.

The saga continues some 4 months later we await the completion statements. The draft ones contained errors and the queries have not been addressed.

Everything they could get wrong they got wrong !! Too many errors to even be bothered to go into, but also included incorrect Completion Statement and underpayment of monies beit only a small sum. This was a straightforward sale, no mortgage. This morning I have given up with it, I cannot believe the whole saga - if I continue I will be very very rude and say something I may regret !!!

Most solicitors are a waste of time, I've worked for enough to know that, but I will never get my head around this firm and some of the people who are employed there. This is an episode in my life I prefer to blank out !
  • Currently using them, and can tell you that they are no good at all. Using for both sale and purchase. Have had no contact from them, and find it extremely difficult to get hold of them via phone or email. Our sale was meant to be fast, however they have not done anything in nearly 2 months now.
Getting grief from estate agents at both ends as they can never get in contact or are told that we have not paid deposit (complete lies). Would never recommend EVER. I wrote to their complaints 'champion' only to be told, someone is on holiday so we are busy. Great response.
  • I have used Ross Coates for a sale to and purchase from a developer in May 15. The level of service I received from Anup and Aimee was terrific. There have been complex challenges presented to us along the way due to issues on the other side and a few mishaps outside of Ross Coates control. Anup has dealt with everything quickly and comprehensively. So on balance, I am a very happy customer and would use them in future. I have high standards, so would not make such a recommendation lightly. Thanks Ross Coates!
  • I used Ross Coates/Harmony Law for Sale and Purchase Conveyancing services. Judging by all the posts I've read, if you don't get assigned to Anup and Aimee you will probably be in for a bad time.

Fortunately, Anup and Aimee were assigned to my conveyance and I found both to be exceptionally diligent and professional; and never had any difficulty in contacting either of them.

There were several compexities throughout the process which Anup handled with great professionalism, in a very timely manner; and kept me updated throughout. I cannot praise him or Aimee highly enough.

To this end, my experience of Ross Coates/Harmony Law has been a very good one.
  • Harmony Conveyancing (Ross Coates) is dreadful - grudging and grasping. Reluctant to answer e-mails and never pick up the phone. Take deposits out of your bank account before a new property is identified and then take ages to refund when you decide you don't want to proceed with such a ghastly company. Took £120 more than they quoted me for the sale of my property with no explanation. Never again!

Im guessing that thousands of people who aren't registered browse MSE forums each day, and when they see a forum title they feel passionate about, register and make a comment.

I read this thread all the way through, and it makes me laugh how someone posts for the first and only time and it's is automatically just seen an sweetener or a dampener.
  • I recently completed a house sale only (and thought I would try the Ross Coates (Harmony Law) conveyancing factory)......actually it would have been ok given the amount I paid but there were some potentially serious errors carried out by the firm........

    1. they agreed a different later completion date without my consent.......
    2. they allowed the buyer's solictor to annotate the completion contract to add elements which were against my clear emailed instructions

They are quite inexperienced and barely competent and as a result probably don't represent your interests as well as you would expect

If you are prepared to do most of the legwork and watch them like a hawk (leave your signing of the completion contract to the very end......otherwise it is a big no no to send this before the buyer signs.....)

But you do get what you pay for......lesson learned!!!
