  • I have currently been on a half price package with Sky (usually £41 per month). This runs out this weekend so I rang Sky and said I wanted to cancel my subscription, she said that as of this morning they were not doing any other offers - these had been pulled (I never asked for any offer), she said I could cut down my package, I said no i wanted to cancel, so as of 30 days time I will be skyless. SHe kept insisting on me cutting down on channels though, but I stuck to my guns and am hoping for a call. Have to remember to put it in my diary. FYI the number I got through on was 0800 0512595 then cancellations then turnaround, I think there are quite a lot of numbers going round which I rang to end up been offered 0870 numbers.

I just phoned to cancel citing a dodgy reciever hoping to be offered Sky+ cheap and a discounted package for a few months. The chappy I was talking too said that there aren't any discount offers available to them to retain customers any more as Sky are investing in promotion for the Xmas season but I did manage to get a free service call.

Could have had Sky+ for £49 with free install as this is a current offer but you either have to pay £10 subs or have at least 2 premium channels - bit too expensive for me though I do miss the American Football !!

He did say that Sky+ is falling in price all the time and to look out for deals coming in the run up to Christmas.

Sorry, what is meant by that?

Thats the installation menu of you need to reset the box, wipe all your Sky+ recordings or turn on the 9v feed if you have a MagicEye (a thinghy that controls the sky box from your bedroom via a cable into RF2 on the sky box)
  • Hi

Well my 30 days notice is due up in 4 days time, and the best offer so far is just sky+ for £49, no offer what so ever on packages, in fact they were adamant that offers of discount on packages have stopped, so do I now accept their best offer or get cut off and try and rejoin? Trouble is I do not want to be without sky over christmas.

  • Rang up today & was told sky has changed their offers. I could get my monthly spend down from £37 to £28 if I take off some of the channels. Very nice man on the phone but he said that was the best he could do & sky would not offer any deals to keep me with them :(

Managed to get my Dad, Sky+ installed for £79. He was on the full £42 package & was getting a bad signal etc. Guy's who came put new dish up & gave him new LNB for old dish. Very impressed with SKY+ problem is have to teach him how to use it!!!!
  • I got my new sky plus in april 2009 i called them late pm and got straight through i asked what offers they had on at the moment the guy said he would have a look, when he came back he said that they could do it for£99 plus installation i said i wanted it cheaper with no insallation cost, he said he would look again,he then came back and said he could do it for £49, i said it was more than i wanted to pay i thanked him and said i would look into virgin he then said if i stayed with sky i could have it for £15 so i agreed and then asked for a reduce in cost per month as a good will gesture he said he would knock off £10 per month for 9 months result i thought.:T

Just been on to sky - said I was reviewing my fiances and that a mate had been offer 25% discount for 12 months. They gave me 25% off for a year without even a fight so thank you to the origional poster.
Phone 08000510317 for a free phone number then head for the turn around option.

Hi, ive been with sky for a few months, how long have you been with them Max? i have the hd package, the difference is amazing, more clear and detailed, but with a limited amount of chanels, not sure if the £6 pounds could be spent better, i think im tied in to the hd for 12 months, im looking for ways to trim back my package! £42 pm including broadband & sk talk, any suggestions thx

    Hi
I have been watching the forums with much interest. Today I rang to cancel my sky subs currently BB and phone (freetalk) with 3 mixes, no movies or sport. I citied that I had a freesat HD box to move downstairs.
I was offered a free HD box to view the free HD channels, so no subs for initially £30 install fee, but due to a system error the system gave a price of £15. Yes its a 12 month contract, but i'm sure I will get a phone call or mail drop offering free HD subs for so many months. Also, it gives me access to the VOD (video on demand) features when it becomes available later this year.

    Chris
