So any attempt to refuse delivery or fail to collect will generally leave you without the item and your money.
Accept the parcel, if it is different to the item you sold, then you may be looking at the buyer being subject to an offence of deception. If this is the case, go to your local police station. With a crime number, Paypal will be more lenient to you and may envoke a refund based on the info the police supply.
Yes, I'd be really tempted to open the box in front of the postie, and if there is any whiff of deception, call the police. Take photos. Get the posties details....0 -
Similar thing is happening to us, we sold some high value stamps £100+ which were in mint condition and posted them in the same packaging the royal mail sent them to us in when we bought them. Got an extremely abusive and very agressive set of emails from the buyer complaining they were not in a mint condition when they received them and were all creased and demanded a refund. Fail to see how they could possibly have been in anything but mint condition but paypal have sided with the buyer and said when they return them we have to issue a refund. Suspect the case is more the buyer decided they didn't want them and deliberately damaged them. We had a 100% feedback of nearly 1,000 but due to these individuals this has been marred and we will be left with damaged goods which are now worthless. A select few individuals really spoil Ebay and unfortunately they have paypal on their side and don't they know it.
I appreciate there has to be protection for buyers but it seems to be non existent protection for sellers unfortunately.0 -
Ok so here's my latest update...
I contacted the person that my buyer sold the stroller too.
We had a fairly lengthy chat on the phone and she tells me that from my ebay listing, she is fairly confident (as in 99.9%) that the stroller that she now has in her possession, is the one that I orginally sold.
Apparently she had contact with her seller/my buyer (cgtitles) about some issues she was having and it would seem that word for word cgtitles has copied and pasted this dialog to me via the Paypal dispute!!!!
Anyway, she assures me that the stroller is still with her and she intends it to stay this way as she loves it!
Soooo. I'm guessing (and most definately hoping) that I'm unlikely to get a stroller back so Paypal will reissue the funds to my account which is a massive relief for me...wish me luck
It will always be impossible to please everybody all of the time but so long as someone is happy with me somewhere at some point, my job here is done!0 -
You're not kidding. I'm really mad that both Paypal and Ebay have been so dismissive of what I've been telling them....particularly when I've given them the other listing info where she has sold the stroller on!!:mad:alice011178 wrote: »Lordy - what a mess - I really feel for you. Well done, great detective work! So it has developed a fault, she contacted the seller (your buyer) who is hoping to offset any refund/repair by getting you to contribute!...nice one!
I am so shocked that people could be so deciebtful and damn crafty!
Hopefully the new owner, and your communication with them will help when debating things with paypal/ebay.
Watch your back though, if hes being this crafty he may still try the 'sending a tracked parcel without your pushchair in it' scam on you.
I would also thank you for updating the thread, it is often very useful to refer/link to threads at a later date if anyone else has a similar issue, threads like this are also a good lesson for us all about tricks people try and pull, that us honest people whould not have thought of in our wildest dreams, just makes us more aware!0 -

So are you saying that paypal have already refunded her, before she has provided tracking information for return?
Or does paypal 'reserve' this money from your account and only release it to the buyer once tracking delivery is shown?0 -
I know! Sure has put me off Ebay for a wee while!I am so shocked that people could be so deciebtful and damn crafty!
It's my pleasure. My account was in credit and when this dipute was started Paypal put a hold on my account which put me into the red slightly.
I then had to transfer money into my Paypal account in order to continue using it for other purchases I have made.
(Which incidentally is another gripe I have....why did it take 9 days for it to clear from my bank account into my Paypal account!! However, I guess that's a whinge for another day lol)It will always be impossible to please everybody all of the time but so long as someone is happy with me somewhere at some point, my job here is done!0 -
Has the case actually closed now as the funds are being released?
I've only just read it & as you're on a forces base, I would have told the buyer that everything has to be opened in the guard room by several armed soldiers who have to do a full inventory of all packets-parcels etc, including serial numbers & the senders address, due to increased security.0 -
