The only reason i wrapped presents is because my LO found my stash and kept trying to play with them. He's only 2 so didnt understand that mummy was keeping them for Santa. I may also be working Christmas Eve so i want to be as organised as possible.

I love my Lakeland airer. Full load of washing bone dry over night. Second load on now.

LO slept all night in a big boy bed last night. So proud. Just need to sort out potty training and we'll be laughing (he was doing really well but just kind of stopped)
  • I keep wondering about horticultural fleece, the stuff you line your greenhouse with or put over plants to protect them from the frost like this:-
    http://www.harrodhorticultural.com/HarrodSite/product/Special_Offers_Extra_Value_Saver_Packs/GDN-030.htm

its very lightweight and would be easy to hang on existing curtains or those poles for nets.

The 30gm one protects plants down to minus 2c or -3C.

I am going to try it this year and velcro it to the window frames in rooms we don't need to see out of. Windows we do want to see out of will have the curtains lined with it.

My HB has the Comfy Soft loo rolls in again. 18 for £3.59 so I bought 3 lots. Did get an odd look from the very nice checkout man:rotfl:Now got 84 in my store cupboard and 54 in my bathroom cupboard. I know I'm still way behind some of you though-lol

    Hi all
Gigervamp what are these fabulous water repellent trews cos I would like some too - I hate getting wet thighs when Im out with doglets and get caught by the rain - the gap between wellies and waterproof jacket is sooo annoying I am even thinking of getting something called a 'carriage driving apron' but they are £35 + !!

    I got these ones.

hi everyone!!! gosh i cant keep up with this thread ive missed so much!!! ordered some of the ebay draught door gaurd things

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380348856443&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en

for the kitchen and bathroom door so thank you to whoever posted i was wondering if there is anything that will help my doors other than a door curtain? we have PVC type front and back doors and are in an upstairs flat so the doors are draughty but at the bottom of the satirs so its not really bad (but you do notice the cold when you nip down for the paper!) and the back door blows into the kitchen and bathroom you notice a slight draught coming up the satirs (better than it was when there was a hole in the wall for a pipe and before the cavity wall insulation) but i want somthing maybe just to go round the edge of the doors for the draught as nothing comes through them its just cold and i dont have a curtain or room for a pole so wondered if there is anything else i could use?

    Thanks

Just ordered one as I am fed up of it taking yonks to get my big pan of water hot enough plus all the condensation it generates. Should be here Friday:)

i think you'll like it, i've never been one to buy all the microwave gadgets but this one is a keeper!

i just love how easy it is to throw in the water, rice, veg and seasonings, give it a good stir then come back when the bell dings (10 min for white rice if i remember correctly, 20 for brown) it's even easier than doing spuds in the microwave cuz you don't have to wash and poke holes in the rice :p

I thought about doing this as I've got loads already, i worried people would think i was weird

people think i'm weird just because i have ALL my christmas presents and birthday gifts needed til next summer, have for more than a month now...

mind you i'm not organised enough to have wrapped them yet... still need to get this upheaval sorted for my food stores so i can GET to them :rotfl:

actually though, we normally wrap them in situ at grans house as they are travelling from one side of scotland to the other. and it gives us something to do cuz gran doesn't have internet

personally though i think wrapping now is a good idea, take some stress out of christmas so you can kick back and enjoy it. i have always regretted it the years when we've waited until christmas eve to wrap all of the wee ones presents... it's always a really late night cuz it's so hard to get her to sleep early when she's that hyped up, seems to go on for hours and hours and i actually normally enjoy making the presents look nice but if it's last minute they get what they get and should be glad they were wrapped at all :rotfl:

    you're not weird, you're 'efficient' ;)
