I had a similar problem with a huge bedroom window. My curtains are deep red and was lucky enough to find a dark red king duvet cover in the local cs, for £3.99. Just took it apart at the seams and hemmed the raw edges then tacked it on to the top of the curtains. If you can't hem a row of running stitches would do, or perhaps you've a kind rellie or neighbour who could run it up on their machine for a bunch of flowers?0 -
oops forgot to sort out the stockpile under the stairs.. carpet cleaner has gone home to prepare for the WW3 he now thinks is upon us after being attacked by various bargains from Tesco's and Approved Foods for most of the morning
:o
I kid you not everything we moved/opened something fell out/off of or in the case of the understairs cupboard avalanched :rotfl:
Soo carpets are lovely and fresh, lined curtains are washed and rehung for winter, suite has been washed,so has the dog
Hats,gloves,scarves are paired/washed/packed into hat/glove/scarf bag.
Kitchen is still like Beirut but worse now while the carpets finish drying! I NEED my jars from the Jamjarshop ordered them on the 31st:( my whole kitchen table is awash with preserving stuff I need to get done!0 -
Yes, and I'm on here instead of peeling apples! Some days, you just can't face it. I just got some tomatoes finished yesterday, and as I walked past the greenhouse tonight, there is another lot sneering at me.0

When i lined the boys room curtains with fleece last year it took me 4 evenings and I only attached them across the top (I'm so slow)
I managed to find curtains on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003JL9AAI/ref=oss_product that are slightly wider but by the time they are wrinkled up I hope you won't see it.
They were £27 + £6 postage but as I expected a price of about £70 i'm quite chuffed esp as I paid with my amazon credit note from top cashback haha (5% extra)I have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammarMortgage pay off date 11/2028. Target 12/2020 :rotfl:

have you considered a vitamin d supplement as well as a light box or daylight bulbs if you have/can get them? i know a lot of people with SAD that swear by vitamin d, i bought some during holland and barratts last sale and have started taking one daily a few weeks ago in hopes of fending off the winter blues... (vitamin d also helps with digestion, so with stodgy winter food that's a plus too!)
I haven't tried a light box(yet!) I'm on meds for depression anyway but it all gets too much in the winter,I go for a walk every lunchtime to get out into the daylight and take a multi vit.I can deal with the weight gain - comfort food - but the tiredness is a pain in the neck!!!
Mind you,I do feel a bit more positive after planning for the winter, something I've never really done before.:DGive without remembering, receive without forgetting.0 -

hello oldtractor, dont want to spread doom n gloom but there have been a spat of oil thefts from houses not to far from me. you are probably ok but thought I would sound a word of caution......
Yup, there's been a few around here and near DM & DF.
I had oil at my last house but thankfully have mains gas here although a few of the nearby villages still don't apparently (I'd still give up the gas & move back to the middle of nowhere tomorrow if I could).
I used to keep a padlock on mine ... even then. It won't stop the most determined thief, but if you get a study one that just fits it's quite difficult to break them.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
