at least here we're anonymous enough to know that even if someone dodgy was lurking they'd have more of a challenge to find our stockpiles. i'm not sure insurance would cover things like loo roll and rice stockpiles, but regardless, having had my car broken into (by a neighbour in the same block of flats i later found out ) i know personally the sense of violation that is felt, and i dare say a bit of paranoia for a long time afterwards... wouldn't wish that on anyone
If anyone tries to sort out my stockpile they'll have a job on!
I'd be inclined to wish them luck and lend them the barrow :rotfl:0 -
ooh I'm off to Primark next month - lets hope they have the fleeces on sale then! Even though I'll still buy one!

...is there a secret code to somehow get a broken freezer??? :rotfl::rotfl:
Yes. But if I told you I'd have to kill you and stash you in a broken freezer.
Another option... the nearest council recycling center. Many repair white goods for resale, and recycle anything they cannot fix. An offer to pay for and collect the next such unfixable freezer might be worth a try.
EDIT: Why just a freezer? A fridge laid on its back and with the shelves removed would serve as well (even if you need two for the volume) and there are probably more of those about.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. i'd recommend tesco direct, asda (online) and marks and spencers, all of them have been having clear outs lately and lots of kids schoolwear has been on offer. not sure if you'll find the red ones as they're probably all the stuff that's been (virtually) picked over but it's worth a shot
the discount codes forum here had some codes for free delivery for marks and i think tesco recently, so worth a look0 -
my heating oil was delivered today and I looked at the old reciepts. its 29% dearer than 2 years ago.0

i try to use the washing machine every other day and have a full load, have showers not baths,
Thanks in advance
Hi chirpy
Can you run your washing machine over night on Economy 7? Mine has a timer but if yours doesn't you can buy them quite cheaply, or even beg one from family or a friend. It saves me a good 1/3 of the daytime cost, quite a saving if you're washing every other day.
Re the shower, I put the plug in when I shower, that way not only do my feet get a good soak but the water saved is used for cleaning the bathroom and wiping the floor over afterwards. I should add there's only me and I shower every other day so the water isn't too disgusting0 -

Argh. OH just came downstairs and put the heating on. I waited till he went back upstairs and switched it back off.
And ..... with all these stories of OH's raiding freezers, and having to hide things in cupboards/move them so they're not "discovered", I'm chuckling away and thinking I'm quite lucky!:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
