Mine still works, however I can't use it for certain numbers as when the voiceover says" for this dept press 3 " I'm ever so slightly stumped!!!

reminds me of an episode of Raising Hope. the mother uses a plastic recorder to simulate the touchtone beeps... (it's episode 12 of season 1, "romeo and romeo" if you want a look)

Tugrin that's not being soft, that's being totally in love with your dogs (like me!). When mine can't manage the stairs any more, I'm going to sleep downstairs with them. Even though my friends and family think I'm nuts. I don't care!
Our old girl is starting to struggle with the stairs mainly when she's tired, we've half-joked that when it gets too bad for her we'll lift her onto OH's stairlift to get her upstairs! :D

Anyone needing a cheapish extra airer for drying clothes - L*dl have some starting next Monday (12th)

    http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_24020.htm
£8.99 and looks like the clothes all have room to dry properly IYKWIM.

Might give this a try - I have quite a big one similar to this http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8500447/Trail/searchtext%3EMINKY+AIRER.htm but find the clothes overlap/take ages to dry if I use every rail :(
I got that one from Lidl a few years ago, mine has red legs, and it's a brilliant airer, there's loads of room and it's wide enough for bath sheets. It's quite long with the arms out but narrow so it's ideal to stand along a wall, I normally stand mine against the wall under the window. You don't have to have the arms out, you can put your washing on the main horizontal part then fold the arms back over the top. I often use it when the weather is changeable, I put the washing on it and just lift it outside and back in if it rains. It's sturdy too so won't fall over if it's knocked.

I've just stocked up on tins of chopped tomatoes in Tesco's as they were "buy one get 2 free" on the 4 pack version - £3.49 for 12! Also Typhoo teabags are BOGOF & Beef OXO cubes (12 pack).

Winter is definately on it's way. Mr T has put the deicer back up to full price. The small can is £1.50 and the big one is £3 (last week it was 62p).

It was freezing here last night with gale force winds and showers etc every two minutes that hammered the heck out of the windows etc and meant I had a morning of rehoming various bits of garden furniture and clothing to various neighbours to some embaressment as well I might add with someones unmentionables spread across my lawn!

I am waiting now on my pay cheque - thursday cant come quick enough and I will be ordering my new freezer - so nerdy I know but you will all understand where Im coming from. I had originally seen it for £180, then it went down to £145 and I have now found it for £130 which will give me £50 to fill it with :money:. Which reminds me I need to clear space for it asap as Im not entirely sure where to put it yet!

Also I need to get a few more bits bagged up to go into the attic that we wont be using again for a while - mostly summer stuff so a friend of mine who is taller can come and help me get them in the attic!

Havent managed much else yet to do with winter prep though other than buying baby a few more sets of PJs in a Mr T sale.

Have saved the link for the £1.99 toilet roll though so thank you to whoever posted that.

Think I may have found a secret stash space for all my bits and pieces too - I have a small cupboard that is under the stairs - my gas meter is in there so not entirely sure how big the space is so will have to get my torch out and have a look tomorrow when babe is napping and see how much space is available because Im thinking a few tubs worth of tinned goods would fit in there no problem and its a small dry space that would be perfect for toilet roll storage! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I will try and take photo's later. x
    Time to find me again

he-he he - glad it's not just me that's mad about their dogs

one of mine (i have three) is quite elderly and has struggled getting up on the sofa and (dare i say it) my bed - as i really couldn't lift her up onto the bed every time she fancied a nap - i put a big box along one side of the bed and that acts as a step for her

i live in a bungalow - so no probs with stairs - but i do have to help her into my vehicle
saving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk
    made loads last year

Afternoon. Its raining and blowing a gale here. Had to brave the weather to return very items - not nice.

Anyway, new quilt on LO's bed and hung his lined curtains. That will hopefully keep him cosy at night. Also got a fleece on as a sheet for him just now. Need to sort the loft hatch in his room as it doesnt close right.

Meant to be going to Leauchars airshow this weekend :( doesnt look like the weather will be good. A friend wants our tickets though so at least ill get my cash back.

Still gutting the house in an attempt to unearth some usefull winter treasures.

Eta: found 2 duvet covers and a questionable set of curtains.

Blowing a flipping gale here today - doubt that my sweet peas and runner beans will survive for the village show on Saturday and don't mention tomatoes to me (when I think of last years glory......). Have dug out hats and gloves for me and blow me down the clothes moths have been making merry with th woolly ones - they are an absolute menace and I have definitely decided to get something nasty and chemical to knock them on the head because I sick of finding holes in everyting.
Other than my rosehips (syrup and de-seeded for tomato substitutes) I have done very little in the way of winter prep. Money has run out with too much month left so Im left foraging and fossicking around at home for bits of pretty fabric for jam pot covers or scraps to make a nice wheat-bag type of thing. It feels like the Ocober equinox which is about right because that would put the whole season thing about 6 to 7 weeks out of kilter - I cant wait for payday so I can get a heated throw an some cosy slippers - I have only worn crocs inside up to now but they are actually so slippery when the tread is worn on them I have decided on something a bit more sustantial for the coming winter.
