Can't remember exactly how we did it, but think it was my OH being rather creative with some string and the way the blinds were constructed!

you could easily poke holes in fleeces too, they don't unravel and they're light enough they won't pull down the blinds0 -

Soon as I check up on meow, just goes deeper under!!!
Weird how suddenly dives under there this time of year??
Has your cat started hibernating???
i no longer have a cat but you just brought back happy memories of my fav pet when i wsa a kid. he used to try laying on my feet in bed but i couldn't stand the feel of it so i'd gently push him off. finally one night i pulled the covers back next to me and patted it to get him to come lay down. he did, rested his head on the pillow and let me cover him up, from then on he'd sleep under the covers with me every night *eyes well up a bit* i really miss him, but that's a lovely memory so thank you for jogging my memory0 -
Can I ask a question re bubble wrap on windows please? I don't have any bubble wrap on a roll, but do have lots of bits of it hoarded from various packages over the months. Will I be able to use that, piecing it together on my windows, or do I have to buy a whole roll? My windows are about four foot by two or three.
you can piece it together like a jigsaw, you just need to lightly dampen the window, then lightly press the bubbles against the glass, surface tension will hold them on. every once in awhile you may need to dampen it again underneath so basically you'll just have more spaces to possibly refresh than those using a continuous strip0 -

La-Cara, what a lovely idea, thank you! Slightly off topic for this board, but I have been wanting an Ikea trip to get some little jars to put hot chocolate and marshmallows in as a Christmas Gift, so getting some of these shower curtain poles is just the reason I need to finally go! Sorry to go off subject but you just brought back memories - in the days of yore when I was a call girl (;)) we had ginormous bakelite headphones and a huge trumpet-like mouthpiece that hung round our necks on a wide fabric band. Mind you in those days enquiries were free and we only charged 4d (2p) for our services

ThrivingOnThrift wrote: »Good evening! We rent a flat with wooden blinds, and had planned to put up curtains for the winter. However, our landlord has refused us permission, even when we promised to take them down and make good any holes for the curtain pole at the end! Any ideas for a non-permanent way to put up curtains or similar to keep us snug this winter? Very gratefully received!Credit card debt - NIL
