Soon as I check up on meow, just goes deeper under!!!
Weird how suddenly dives under there this time of year??
Has your cat started hibernating???
Ours hibernate about 8 months of the year.
Our beds are continuously"lumpy".
This year I may just join them:rotfl:.0 -
FK turns into a proper whimp wanting to get under the quilt when its just a bit chilly...unless of course the fire is going and then there is no moving her!0

Absolutely chilly here today, and wet and windy. We've hardly had a lovely day all the past month or two! Nice reminder about hiding cash in safe places, I'd also add, keep an eye on coal, logs and heating oil. Even though we are very rural there was a spate last year of stacks of logs, coal and oil getting stolen, some of it from OAP's
and for those with livestock, make sure you get enough bedding and feed in. Also medication...it can be serious for some if they get snowed in and run out of their meds. Don't forget too that in very bad weather, the chemist may not even be able to open if the pharmacist can't make it in!

Oldest canine (dowager duchess) is constantly 'under' cusions or throws -at risk to her life at times if one of us suddenly flumps down on the sofa. Even when younger she was oftern (and I mean often) though to have gone AWOL but later after panicked searcing of nearby streets, found to under duvet that was at the time up against the radiator (on of course) and so deeply asleep that she was oblivious to our shouts!!
Sadly she cant manage the stairs in the new house as they are slippery and those open tread ones so she contents herself with maing nests akin to beaver dams with all my soft furnishings and waits until I come down or home to put he own personal princess halogen heater on, God what a soft touch I am -Apologies to all those who do not share the same kind of feelings about pets!debt free 2021 at current DMP rate[/COLOR] (probably be in an old peoples home by then)0 -
Tugrin that's not being soft, that's being totally in love with your dogs (like me!). When mine can't manage the stairs any more, I'm going to sleep downstairs with them. Even though my friends and family think I'm nuts. I don't care!
All the rowan trees on the derelict land near me have been stripped bare. I was astounded when I climbed through the gap in the fence the other day and saw no orange berries - only a month ago they'd been so heavily laden that I could have sworn they'd last the whole winter through. Must get on with getting my blinds up over the next couple of days - the temperature has dropped and I am already wearing a hat and scarf when walking the dogs :eek:Aspire not to have more but to be more.

I've been getting the Spring Force packs that are in the Discount Brands range at Tesc0, they are £1.99 for a 9-pack and according to the packaging that's 210 sheets per roll, average roll length 23.1m. I'm actually happy with the Value range but my grown up DDs have a hissy fit thinking their friends might notice (they're the same about anything in Value packaging). We're on a septic tank and find thick paper like Andrex causes far more problems than it's worth, and I'd never dream of putting paper coated with shea butter, for example, down the drains.
I'm quite a drive from Home Bargains and usually park so far away I don't buy bulky items that are awkward to carry back to the car. I think I did get a small pack from the Nicky range ages ago, can anyone let me know how the roll length compares to these Tesc0 ones? Thanks...0 -

Good point, we couldn't get the hay we needed before Christmas (I pick up 35 bales at a time but the farmer's yard was inaccessible) and I had to buy bagged haylage, which didn't suit one of our old ponies at all, the local feed stores didn't get their usual deliveries and they ran out of everything we'd usually use. I won't risk that again, and will make sure I always have enough horse and chicken feed for a couple of months ahead.0 -

Kind of along the same lines, we bought Guinea pigs for our little ones last xmas but buying wood shavings etc was starting to get really expensive (2-3 hutch changes a week) so I went to a local shop that makes fences/play houses etc and as long as I take my own bag, they fill it up for me with saw dust. Obviously I double check it as I'm cleaning them out that there are no sharp bits there, but it's saved me a fortune and I can really stock up for the winter without having to worry about the outlay.0

Can I ask a question re bubble wrap on windows please? I don't have any bubble wrap on a roll, but do have lots of bits of it hoarded from various packages over the months. Will I be able to use that, piecing it together on my windows, or do I have to buy a whole roll? My windows are about four foot by two or three."Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"0
