  • Hi everybody!!:j

Long time lurker here, finally plucked up the courage to join. Have been following this forum for a few months and learned lots:j. Very pleased to have survived the past week with lots of tips from you lovely people, just one thing I am lacking and that is a snow shovel. Have a bad back and after having borrowed an ordinary one from the neighbours, haven't been able to move for a couple of days!!

Hope you can recommend a nice light one for me. Want to be prepared for the next onslaught:eek:

Thanks for all the help so far.

This is the "ahem" clean version
    What does cundy mean?

Cundy is a variation of Condie which is a Scottish name meaning someone who lives by a channel of water.

;) Felines are my favourite ;)

Welcome to the madhouse TT. Re the snow shovel, I have one of these which I bought from Homebase years ago and it's still going strong.

If you use it on fresh snow it's light and easy to use. If the snow has compacted you may need to loosen it with a hoe or a conventional shovel before scooping it up. But it's still lighter than scooping snow on the metal shovel.

went to the garden centre last weekend as you do in the chilliest winter and saw snow shovels. Thought if i buy one and be prepared it wont snow, if i dont buy one then it will snow so bought one and yes it snowed, but at least it got used.

Sometimes it doesn't matter, last year the OH shovelled and I salted, then it snowed again and froze.... repeat for I don't know how many days, till the OH ran out of energy and I ran out of salt.

    Useless.
