Total chaos here. All roads in the borders closed or suitable only for 4x4 or HGVs, all schools off, hospital cancelled all clinics , nearest village had cars abandoned at the sides of the main street while people dived into shops, and the Co-op ran out of bread and milk before 11.30. IT's still pouring and theres heavy snow forecast for teatime :rotfl:

    Good luck! Sounds interesting!!!

Sounds like RV and his snow shovel will be kept busy for the foreseeable!

We had a wee shower of sleet, snow forecast for later. It's now 3C and it feels positively balmy after being down to -8C last night.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

I have 8 chooks and have been having the same problem with thier water so thought this was a brilliant idea:A.....just 1 thing though, can they not burn themselves at all on the tea light:o?

    Rigs

They wouldn't be able to get to them if you put them on a wire rack but you would have to weigh it down with something.

You could always find a shallow terracotta plate/pot to put your candle in and weigh that down around the candle with some large stones or something.

I've just had to text my husband to call and get me some rubber gloves on his way home.

I can't do any washing up as my hands are so full of cuts and cracks, I look like I have been bare knuckle boxing! I always end up like this in cold weather.

Everytime I let the dog out I have to go with her and stand by her then pick her up to bring her back in, she won't come in otherwise as she keeps running around in the snow!

Hence I'm having to wash my hands more than normal.

Not much better here either. Just on the radio, buses going off now, several neighbours have tried digging out their cars, lots of revving engines but they ended pushing the car back onto the drive, just can't get out of the cul de sac, we have been totally forgotten and schools still off tomorrow, no bin collections etc. Thank goodness we have food and OH still has days to take off without affecting his pay, we will be putting up the Christmas tree tomorrow to celebrate another day off school.
