I've put three extra blankets on the bed, which will hopefully keep me toasty warm.It might just be difficult turning, due to their weight, plus the weight of the double duvet. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

We already have a heavy frost here. Neighbours car is Navy, its roof is currently WHITE :eek:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

BTW did anyone pick up the free thermometers they are handing out free in the AgeUK charity shops? Mine shows 18' Cool at the moment, and states 'minumum temperature with no health risk although you might feel cold.' I've just thrown off my fleece throw as I was too hot. Maybe I'm becoming acclimatised or maybe it has something to do with the thermal vest, socks and OH's wooly pully.....:rotfl:Still snowing heavily here, I think that we are heading for total whiteout:eek:The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

Had to laugh as I've put two cellular blankets on top of duvet last night. When I mentioned to OH this morning how cosy we had been he agreed although he hadn't been able to breathe! A minor detail I reckon:D
It's a small price to pay!:D
Mind you, then there's the wee cat who often likes to curl up to sleep laying on my chest, thus pinning me to the bed. That can be uncomfortable. It's a cunning feline tactic to ensure that I remain her slave.0 -

We have Jaffa who isn't particular about me during the day but at night I can barely climb into bed and pull the covers over me before she bolts up the stairs and jumps up and starts padding and digging her nails in, big furry butt right infront of the view of my tv grrrr.Thriftkitten

Sorry to those on FL thread who will have already seen this this is important
IF YOU MIGHT NEED RECOVERING IN YOUR CAR - It makes it much easier to attach a rope if your towing eyes are uncovered and if it's a seperate hook copper grease it, screw it in and leave it in until the end of the bad weatherI don't mind pulling cars out but it makes life so much easier if there is something easy to access to get it hitched onto, can you tell I froze my hands off tonight accessing a towing eye
Okies, rant over be back laternot posted in here for ages and I need to read first
Windows - bubble wrap then clingfilm, or just cling film taped on. Works great. Secondary glazing film is better IMO but That's a good temporary/cheap fixOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I think I may have just realised why it seems a lot.
Our central heating boiler is about 14 years old (according to the engineer), we bought the house 7 years ago so I'm not sure exactly when it was installed.
Anyway, it is the type were you HAVE to have both the heating and hot water on at the same time, you can't have one without the other so I suppose that raises the cost.
We can't afford the cost of a new boiler so it's something we have to put up with until it goes altogether then we may be able to get money towards a new one because of child and working tax credits.
You have my sympathies too. I had an 25yr old boiler like yours, 3yrs ago!0
