Just want to say thank you so much for the heads up on sledges at Argos!! I read it on here last night, reserved 2 online and picked them up this afternoon. As the guy behind the counter handed them to me loads of people rushed up to him saying "Oo do you sell sledges now?" and he said "Those were the last two...." Hee hee!!0

Also got my lovely winter coat out to put on (i HATE winter coats so i can never find one that i like) i got it last year and it's so snuggly... but the zip broke!! loads of the teeth things have fell out and i got stuck in it and had to yank it open and completely knacker the zip
i can't sew and the zip looks really stitched ini don't know what to do because i can't find any coats in the shops that i like at all
On the upside tho just had a mug of hot choc...defo the best winter warmer!
Try your nearest dry cleaners, they often do a service in small repairs and alterations too - good luck!0 -

If the local cleaners don't do repairs, pop a notice up in the newsagent window and ask if someone will do it for you for a few quid... I am sure some kind soul will do it for you0 -
OMG I need a snow shovel... its no fun shifting snow with a heavy garden shovel
Have lagged outdoor pipes to WM... just need ex to come and turn off the outdoor tap... and put up 2 curtain rails so I can put curtains up at the front door and landing window...
Storecupboard well stocked... still haven't done a winter car kit tho  which is really important as I will be at work on the days we are forecast to get snow and last winter it took me 5+ hours to do less than 4 miles
DS friend is coming on Sat to get the sledges and elec radiator out of the loft just in case we need extra... altho this house is so well insulated and the heating is pretty good here.
Got a snood, and a hat which my DDs laughed at. DD2 needs new slippers... she won't set foot in the kitchen morning or evenings anymore, and has outgrown her old ones since I asked her last week if they were ok
Shoe grips will be arriving in the next few days thanks to someone on here who posted about the offer on the Grabbit Board... forgot who, sorry. Got my size, and a size bigger hoping I can fit those on my 'muck boots'... Brought boots in from shed and left them in kitchen hoping if something (think spider) is living in there it will move somewhere else... Nothing worse than taking off boots to find a dry flat spider welded to sock :eek::eek: (it happened once... retch retch... sock went in bin, directly!)
Still can't believe we are going to get so much snow this side of Christmas... we don't usually down south, from what i remember anyway.
Its grim... Not looking forward to it at all. Wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to get to work... Self employed so its a real problem if I can't get there
Quite looking forward to dragging DDs off to school on their sledge though0 -

Be careful driving - do you have your winter car kit sorted?0 -
eeek no winter car pack yet. What an idiot. I walk but DH drives. I've a panic on now. Must make him wear his thermals tomorrow at least. Hopefully not too bad. It's stopped snowing here for now at least. Off to search throough the thread to see what is appropriate for a winter pack0

Yes thanks, and proper grippy boots. Not far to go but it's turning in the slippy side streets that I worry about. Maybe a sledge would be wiser:DThe beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
